I needed a USB headset for doing some tutorial videos. The microphone is certainly decent enough for that. Though it does seem overly sensitive to wind noise (breathing). I had to adjust boom to as low as it would go, around chin level. The heaphones themselves sound decent enough. They don't compete with my $ Audio Technica headphones but for the price I like them.If there was one drawback that makes we want to use them as little as possible is that they are too tight on my head. I wear eye glasses and they put so much pressure on my ears that it ends up pushing my glasse frames into my head which hurts after a while. The headband is all plastic as is the rest of the product. So I cannot flex the headband to loosen it up which would make it more comfortable for me to wear for anything longer than 15-20 min at a time.Oh lastly, and it is likely Windows 7 drivers but I tend to hear pops and hiss from time to time. Very annoying.

Bought the Audio 655 to use with Skype, Voip, etc. The problem is that while everything "works", you cannot hear your own voice in the headset. You sort of hear your own voice outside of the headset and muted by the headset. I emailed Plantronics about the problem and this is the response "I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your .Audio 655. The feature where you hear yourself talk while speaking is called sidetone. The headset doesn't provide it. It is something that is usually done via settings in the operating system. Unfortunately I am not aware of any way to do this in OSX. You will need to contact your computer support personnel to see if there is a way to get this to work with your operating system."For a PC it is probably great. It appears to be a quality product and it is comfortable to wear. But I need to hear my voice in the headset to be able to modulate volume, etc. So, I will have to sell this on @t (threw away the packaging) and buy an different brand that works with Apple products.

Comments about Plantronics .Audio 655 DSP Headset for Mac and PC:

Bought these to replace a really old set of Plantronics DSP 400's, which worked fine until the rabbit ate the cord.

They would make noise when used with an iMac. Usually unplugging and plugging back in would solve it...for awhile.

They finally became too noisy most of the time. Maybe I'll feed them to the rabbit too.

Comments about Plantronics .Audio 655 DSP Headset for Mac and PC:

We use these headsets in classroom settings where students are connected individually via desktop conferencing with students at other sites in Texas. With the noise-cancelation feature, these headsets allow students to be sitting in close proximity to other students connected to a completely different videoconference with no distractions from ambient noise. And the "raise to mute" boom mic is a great feature, too.

I like this product because it is USB, the speakers deliver very good sound quality, and the mic is very good. I receved some compliments on this from my last microphone. The only complaint I have is sometimes when I put the boom up, my microphone is supposed to mute, which it does, but if I am listening to music or something it somehow transfers through and the person I am talking to can hear it. Don't know how that works, may be software not sure, good product. Oh it also gets uncomfortable after a while of wearing, but that is to be expected I wear glasses.

I work from home and use this headset for many hours at a time. Overall it works great, however, I have seen some glitches with my iMac. At times there is some "noise" and garbled audio. Have not identified any reasoning to why this happens.

Headset is very comfortable and works great for VOIP and music. Other then the occasional noise this headset is almost perfect.
