I've had the card for a week now and have had no issues with it. It accelerates render files in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and surprisingly the MainConcept H.264 codec in Squeeze. The acceleration in Premiere makes the application fly with multiple tracks and effects. Installation was a breeze, and support for four monitors is a huge plus. There are probably PC cards now that are cheaper or more powerful, but as a professional who needs a system without failure, I went with the Mac edition card for zero headaches and a quick installation in a Mac Pro 5,1 running 10.8.4. For the card and CUDA drivers, I downloaded the previous 4 releases and picked one of the older ones just to be safe, and it works fine. My thought was I can always upgrade to more current driver in the event an earlier version did not function properly. Although not supported for use with the application, AVID Symphony runs without issue. The GTX 680 Mac Edition is well worth the investment for your older Mac Pro

Comments about EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Graphics Card for Mac:

I purchased this as an upgrade for my 2009 Quad Core Mac Pro. I use Adobe (PP, AE, AME, PS, etc.) and this card makes a noticeable difference in how these apps operate. For some, it's an instant boost, for others like After Effects, it takes some tweaking to get the most out of the card.

Specifically, Premiere Pro renders 20% faster than it did prior to the upgrade. After Effects is light years ahead of where it was before.

Definitely worth it if you make your money on an older Mac Pro.

Comments about EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Graphics Card for Mac:

Bought this to replace existing Nvidia 8800GT in my Harpertown dual 8 core (Mac 3,1) that died. Wow, what a difference this new card makes. Details, rendering all seems sharper with no more flickering pixels! Any GPU aware applications will benefit from this upgrade with no rendering lag time anymore. Loving it!

Comments about EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Graphics Card for Mac:

Bought this to replace the existing 8800GT that died in my 2008 dual quad-core 3.0Ghz (Mac 3,1). I chose this card after having read the various online reviews for it on both gaming and pro apps. You don't realize it until you do... but what a difference! It made the 8800GT seemed anemic. Gave my Cinema HD monitor performance with new clarity never envisage! Artifacts previously observed on the monitor... all gone! Renders beautifully! In hindsight knowing what I do now, it would have been a worthy upgrade even when it was released 2yrs ago. Pleasure to use!Tips: 1) While you're at it, have your Li Battery changed out as well. 2) If you have any other existing PCI cards installed, remove them before attempting to put this in giving you needed maneuvering space!3) Have a powerful torch/flash/lantern - light ready to illuminate the interior well4) Purchase pressurized Air Dusters beforehand.. to clean out the bowels just before installation. Believe me, dust bunnies lives there ;)

Comments about EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Graphics Card for Mac:

This is an excellent upgrade for a MacPro 4,1 system from the ATI 4870. Installation went reasonably smoothly, except the card end didn't line up with the screws in the slot without a minor bit of encouragement. Stock OS drivers work, and manufacturer's driver upgrades were available the day after Yosemite released. Slightly more noise than the ATI, but a whole lot more powerful.

Works well on 2009 quad core Mac Pro with Premiere Pro CC. Cutting feature length documentary with native HDSLR media and aside from occasional audio hiccup, CUDA acceleration makes playback real time without renders. Gave that old Mac another project.

Comments about EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Graphics Card for Mac:

This Graphics Card is approved by Apple for Final Cut Pro X and will work in Mac Pro models from early 2008 thus extending the life of your workstation for Pro Video Editing. It features two DVI outputs for dual monitors and an HDMI if you wish to add a third. It takes about 10 minutes to install and works seamlessly out of the box with no issues and no setup, unless you wish to change your screen resolution.
The only caveats are you must be running current Mac OS and have at least 16 Gb of RAM installed, which is also very affordable now.

Comments about EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Graphics Card for Mac:

I had purchased this little number for my Mac pro 3,1 tower in response to the ridiculous price of the new "Trashcan style" that Apple released.(I recommend you do the same if you are in video editing or digital arts)Basically this guy blows the pants off of my 3rd party upgrade GPU I had before. Boot time can be a little longer but from what I've read its because this thing is a beast. My premiere pro render times are much more realistic in a less than 1:1 second ratio with minimal to moderate effects in place. It was literally plug and play. Thank you so much B&H, not only did you give me the best price on this but you were among a few companies that sell this and could get it to me as fast as you did.Best wishes to your entire team for outstanding service and products.

Comments about EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Graphics Card for Mac:

It's only been installed a week, but I can compare this GTX680 ot the GTX285 it replaced and I can say there is a speed improvement in Premiere Pro. Running 10.9.2 and installation was a snap. Just remember to download and install the CUDA driver first.

Note on EVGA - these folks are definitely not supportive of non-gaming Mac professionals so rely on the good folks at B&H for guidance and the many forums for information.

Comments about EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Graphics Card for Mac:

Within 2 weeks of purchase, the card died. Paid $20 to ship back to manufacturer only to get a new card that crashes once a day, has a weird problem that has the image moved about one centimeter to the left in one monitor, and that outputs videos with image artifacts or glitches in it. After having both this card and the Nvidia Quadro 4000 for Mac, I must say if you are a video production professional save yourself a lot of time by just going with the Quadro 4000.

You'll need OSX 10.8 or higher to run it, but it's a small price to pay if you haven't upgraded your OS. Everything is faster. Renders are faster. Playback in editing programs like Final Cut Pro and Premiere is faster. Cinema 4d renders are literally cut in half. Highly recommended if you have [$]
