We used this to replace a lost lapel clip on a Telex ELM mike. The cord fits snugly in the retainer clip. This clip is somewhat larger that the clip it replaced, so may not be clean looking enough for on-camera use. It is a very secure clip that can be positioned a number of ways, but again, it is not as small or light as some clips and that may be a problem in some applications. For our purposes it works fine.

I bought some Shure es425 in-ear stage monitors. The cable connections have a flex-mold type of coating that allow you to wrap the cable behind your ear. I bought this clothing clip to hold the earphone cable in place behind my neck, running underneath my shirt for a clean look while DJing.
The clip holds the wire firmly in place but has some give if you need to adjust it. Also, the clamp is nice and firm. I made the right choice with this clip.

The AT8439 is so simple to use. All you need to do is push the wire of your microphone through the retaining clip and you're good to go. The wire is secure, and it may be slightly difficult to remove after, but at least you know it won't fall out.
My only complaint is that even though I don't have large fingers, I find it hard to get a good hold on it to open it. But that's it. I don't know of any other clip that lets you attach any microphone to it. It's that versatile.
