Generay includes a wireless remote control with a range of 65' for lights mounted overhead or at a distance. The SP-S-500D offers a 60° flood beam angle and a high CRI of >93. The kit includes the 13.58 x 7.48 x 2.75" SP-S-500D panel, a ratchet-handled mounting knuckle that can be repositioned anywhere along the grooved panel edge. An AC adapter, 2 cable straps and a diffusion filter to soften the light's output are also included, as is a soft-sided carry case with a shoulder strap.

Designed primarily for the studio, the SP-S-500B features a large LCD touchscreen for adjusting color temperature from 3,200K-5,600K so that you can quickly match other light sources or create effects to suit your needs without fumbling for filters. Dimming the light intensity from 100-10% with negligible color shift is just as easy whether you make your adjustments on the back panel or wirelessly via the included wireless remote control. Constructed entirely of metal, the SP-S-500B features an integrated carry handle and textured, reflective 4-way barndoors with gel clips that fold flush to the fixture to protect the array during transport. The SP-S-500B is channeled on all 4 sides to allow repositioning of the mounting knuckle to facilitate vertical or horizontal orientation.

You can use the included multi-voltage AC adapter with right-angle input virtually anywhere in the world or use an optional Sony V-Mount or Anton Bauer battery plate with pro batteries when mains power is not available. Control, flexible features, portability, and remote control make the Studio 500 Bi-Color LED Light a smart choice.

Comments about Genaray SpectroLED Studio 500 Bi-Color LED Light:

I use this to do interviews for a show that I host on the internet and I was surprised that this light was put together so good (Frame is metal and brackets are very solid). Cannot compare with any other brand but this panel is very bright and works very good.

Very nice light for the cost with many features. I would have given it 5 stars but the website was a little deceptive about battery pack options and I ended up having battery packs that can be used with it.

Comments about Genaray SpectroLED Studio 500 Bi-Color LED Light:

I bought these lights for 2 reasons, first I wanted to use them as rim and key lights for photographing products/fashion shoots, but mostly I needed a strong enough flicker free light source for my video production work.

I have been consistently using them for about a month now, and have come to really enjoy working with these more than I expected to. I was nervous about purchasing LED based continuous lights, but that fear was laid to rest after I started working with these " I bought 2 ".

Build Quality - - - Very nice, removable tripod clamp is a stand alone piece that can attach to all 4 sides of the head. The barn doors are metal and thick enough to feel like I purchased a quality piece of equipment, the hinges are very sturdy, and have a firmness you will appreciate. The LED's are exposed until you put the included cover over them. I took the liberty of touching the LED's to see if they were seated nicely - and I will say that they felt really solid !!! Another nice touch was the included carry case, not flimsy, just tough enough to feel protected in travel. The body of the light is plastic, but feel tough enough to be banged around, and I'm happy its not something heavier, light weight for traveling is something I appreciate.

Features - - - It has controllable color temp and power output. You control these by the touch screen display on the rear of the panel which is very easy to use. I think I would prefer turn dials a little more due to the quickness of turning a dial vs. holding my finger down on a touch screen and waiting for it to go from 10% to 100%, which takes about 10 seconds - not that bad but I'm just stating it since it crossed my mind. However the touch screen does look cool on set and in studio when I have clients around me. The way the color balance works is that 250 of the LED's are cool temp, and 250 of them are warm. So if you are at your coolest or warmest settings only 250 of the LED's are actually on. A setting of about 4400-4800K using all 500 LED's yielded the strongest light output.

I was able to comfortably film at ISO400 F5.6 on my Canon 5D Mark III with both of these lights about 10-12 feet away in a dark studio, and as low as ISO100 for my close ups and cropped shots. The lights benefit from a slight diffusion removing any evidence of LED patterns during close ups.

Overall then 500's are great for the price, and I would strongly suggest the 2 light kit over a single 1000 series light for the same price. You can stack them easily if you need the 1000 light effect, but with 2 you get the added bonus of separating them, giving much more diversity. I'm not the easiest to please, so I congratulate Genaray on a job well done.

I was expecting something somewhat flimsy, but the light feels solid. 3200 to 5600 temp dial, would be great if it got to 6k+. Dimmer works well. lightweight, but sturdy, barn doors feel tight. Mounts horizontal or vertical. Comes with diffusion plate , but I add more. Plenty of powere for DSLR video shoots. I would recommend. Really nice to have battery plate for exteriors

Comments about Genaray SpectroLED Studio 500 Bi-Color LED Light:

I was really attracted to the bi-color ability on this light for flexibility but was really concerned about brightness. After I got them, I was WAY less concerned. They do a decent job when paired together to compete with a window even. I shoot in a lot of mixed lighting situations, so it really helps that I can dial it in.

If you did know this was going to be a daylight only kit, I might suggest the daylight kit as it is double the brightness. The build quality is amazing and the remote is an understated feature. Being able to pair lights to it and adjust brightness and color simultaneously is awesome.
