This came with my new 70d so a bigger camera than my old Rebel T2i, so a larger bag was needed. I can fit in the 70d with the 18-135 lens on it plus Canon 70-300 IS lens, plus an 11-16 mm lens & hood. I could squeeze in the 40 mm STM pancake lens on top of the 11-16 if I had to but it becomes pretty crowded. All of the other "stuff" associated with taking pictures has to fit in the front zippered pouch. I would have liked to have had a very small top (inside) lid zippered pouch for easy access to SD cards. There could have been one hidden under the double flap section that would have been perfect. It would have been nice to have had some small side zippered pouches, someplace like for extra batteries or UV/polarizer lens. To store the 70-300 mm lens on the camera the bag would have to be 2+ inches deeper, that would have been a strange bag. If you have to take it all then a backpack would be a better choice. On Macro lens shooting days the 100 mm macro is too long to fit on the camera in the bag. The 50 macro fits on the camera with the 100 & hood along side and the 580EX II flash in the other pocket and a STE-2 wireless if needed. The bag seems well padded like it could take a drop and the camera would survive. Zippers seem sturdy enough, time will tell.

This came as a free be with a Nikon D610. One is supposed to put the camera into the middle of the bag with the lens down, and the screen up. This would then leave 4 compartments for additional gear. However, the hight of the dividers is quite high. With the camera in place, the lid is difficult to close, because the battery grip is simply too thick. I haven't tried with other DSLR bodies, but I guess a similar problem will occur. I now simply place the camera into the bag horizontally, but this leaves little space for additional lenses or gear.
The quality of the bag appears to be sturdy, but I reckon for most DSLR bodies it would need to be one or two cm higher, for the concept to work. I would not have purchased this bag for my camera, and recommend trying it out if it fits your camera body. If it does, it is a nice interior concept.

Good size, will easily accommodate my D7100 with extra lenses, flash, spare batteries, filters, and charger. Does all this without ever feeling overcrowded or cramped.

The basic design has the added advantage of passing (to the casual eye) as a soft sided lunch box when carried by hand, and therefore helps to keep you from becoming a crime target while carrying and protecting your equipment.

Comments about Ruggard Commando 36 DSLR Shoulder Bag:

This bag actually came bundled with a new camera body else I would not have purchased it. I am currently using it to hold some of my overflow gear that I don't normally use.
But this is NOT intended to be a negative review- I just have a lot of camera bags!

The Commando 36 is a pretty nice basic camera bag: sturdy, a good amount of space in a fairly small bag (1 body and a few medium size lenses or 2 bodies with smallish lenses) with some accessory pockets.
It has more room and is better made than my first few bags by far, and yet it is no larger.

The only real negative for this bag- it is not really a bag you can work out of, just one for transporting gear somewhere before you take your gear out and put the bag away while taking pictures.

I use this bag for my Canon 70D, and it is just the right size for what I need. I store my camera, lens, batteries, SD Cards, and a few other odds and ends in the bag. It is comfortable and easy to carry. The only drawback is that there isn't a whole lot of extra room, so when I get more accessories for my camera, I am going to have to find something bigger to carry everything in.

This camera bag came with my Canon 70D package, and is a nice, well-padded, versatile bag. However, I have more lenses and other accessories than fit in the bag. Therefore I am using my Canon backpack bag for my new 70D and the Commando bag for my spare Rebel XT, which fits the camera very well.

This was my first Commando bag. I got it as a part of a package but am very impressed with this bag! It is large enought to accomodate a body and 2 lenses with ease.

Quality is fine and it is light with an excellent padded strap.

                          Highly recommended.

This bag came with my Canon 70D. It's not real big and will only carry what you need for a day trip. Therefore, it's convenient for that purpose. If you need something to carry all your toys, this may not be big enough.

Comments about Ruggard Commando 36 DSLR Shoulder Bag:

this is a very sturdy bag, but it is too small for Canon 70D -- can't hold extra lenses or much of anything else. I use it for my little Sony Nex7

Comments about Ruggard Commando 36 DSLR Shoulder Bag:

This bag was nice considering it was free but it's too small for me. I could only fit my DSLR with a medium lens attached in the main compartment. If that's all you need to take with you it would be fine but I usually carry around 2 lenses with me so it was too small. It does have some nice mesh pockets on the side and a front accessory pocket for extra batteries, memory cards, etc but the bottom line is you cannot fit much in the main compartment. Cannot complain since it was free but probably wouldn't buy on my own.

I got this free as part of a package deal. I was expecting to throw it away but I was pleasantly surprised at its quality. I've now started using it as my main medium sized bag.

Comments about Ruggard Commando 36 DSLR Shoulder Bag:

I am giving this light-duty Ruggard 36 four stars based on value for price and not comparing it with more expensive bags. It is a semi rigid, boxy design that meets my needs perfectly: with the Velcro space dividers taken out, a 5D Mark III with a 70-200mm f/4 lens fits like a glove. The prominent front flap improves protection from rain, covering half the main compartment zipper and all of the front pocket zipper, although it impedes quick access to the contents. Padding is adequate except on the bottom - I added a half inch thick layer of closed cell foam topped with a half inch of open cell. The shoulder strap, while narrow, has a sliding pad that makes it much more comfortable.

Received this bag free with purchase of body. Bag seems to be well made and tough. I can't use it as I have several bags that I like. Sold it with my d7000 when I switched to FX.
