Comments about CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS System:

It took a while to do the research on UPS systems to protect a complex computer audio production setup and it led me to this unit. At some point you will need disability insurance and at some point your system will be subjected to potentially damaging power fluctuations. You should purchase the best policy you can afford.

Pure sine wave technology is very reasonable for "high stakes" applications, including audio production. I do not consider it "overkill." The 10 protected outlets are a blessing. the two USB charging outlets are also welcome. The unit is sturdily constructed. The setup for the Macintosh platform was simple.

We have experienced one "brown out" and the unit functioned perfectly, allowing safe shutdown without damage to any components. This is my first UPS, so I am not able to compare other manufacturers. However, I am happy to recommend this unit.

Comments about CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS System:

I recently bought two of these units (along with one CP1000PFCLCD for a TV and network repeater). The first unit powers a NAS, Modem and Router on the battery side and a Switch, TV and DVD player on the surge side. The NAS (DS415+) is set to hibernate on a power failure as, so far, I cannot find a way to make it power off through the UPS interface. This does not seem to be a shortcoming of the UPS but rather the NAS. The Modem and Router will remain on until the power restores or the batteries are exhausted. Nothing else is plugged into the same wall outlet. The second unit powers a Computer, Monitor, Magic Jack and Cordless Phone/Answering Machine base unit on the battery side and a Sound System, Lamp, External Drive and Mouse Charger on the surge side. The Computer is set to power down on a power failure leaving the VOIP, Cordless Phone base unit and Monitor on battery (Monitor will go to sleep absent a video signal). Plugged into the same wall outlet is a Laser Printer. So far everything is running great and I don't experience any brownout effect on my monitor when the laser printer comes to life for a print job. One minor annoyance is the front USB charging ports only supply 1.0A shared (500mA per port when both occupied). I provided feedback to CyberPower and suggested the ports supply 2.1A, preferrably per port, on future models. They replied that their engineers are aware of the issue and are planning to upgrade the ports in the future. Although the idea of providing the ports to charge cell phones during a power failure is great, hobbling them at 1.0A shared seems to be a glaring oversight. As it stands now the only way to get 2.1A is to buy a stepped wave unit. Still won't knock off a star but wish they'd unpdated the sine wave version by now.

Just upgraded an older triplite with this Cyberpower which was chosen due to its compatibility with Synology. Plugged the usb into the Synology and set it up, added WinNUT to my computer and now in a power outage, the Synology shuts down the computer and then itself perfectly! Has around 17min with the computer, router and 2 bay synology running on it and over 200min with just the synology and router. Very happy with this purchase!

Comments about CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS System:

Over the years I had used many UPS, most from APC and in 350-750VA range. They cost less but the battery were only good for about 3 years. Replacing battery is not cheap and the whole unit is not that good. I had to use two such units to power all my PCs. With this little giant I can use only one. When the battery is dead it's worth to replace it.

Comments about CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS System:

I have been thinking about a UPS for my home for a long time.
I got a couple from work that were tossed as the batteried were bad and was going to repair them but realized that they were all modified sine wave, which I don't want to use on my equipment.
Some equipment does not like anything other than a pure sign wave because of harmonics which may reek havoc on electronics. So I want to play it safe and get the pure sine wave models. Sure they cost a little more but how much is your equipment worth? Probably a lot more than what you paid for that cheaper modified sine UPS!
THis thing is awesome, especially to an elecronics geek with all of the digital display readout functions. Watts, VA, frequency, voltage in and out etc... Very cool!!!
Used for a weather station, laptop computer and router.

As a video editor, having a stable UPS to protect both editing equipment and storage devices is crucial. Electrical current fluctuations can have negative effects on external hard drives that contain video project files that are pivotal for day-to-day production. After searching various links regarding a recommended UPS for Macs, this model came up as one that can handle the demands of my everyday workflow. So far so good.

I purchased this UPS to protect my new Mac Pro, Pegasus2 R4 and NEC PA272W monitor. I'm also using the surge protection for the coax to my cable modem and the ethernet cable to my Mac Pro.
Everything seems to be working fine although we rarely have power problems in my area. The display shows approximately 51 minutes of runtime available with all components up and running.
OS X recognizes the UPS and it appears in "Energy Saver" and can be easily configured there.
I downloaded and installed "PowerPanel" and have written a shutdown script to also shutdown my Synology DS1511+ NAS before the Mac Pro if power is lost. Works fine but, PowerPanel for Mac is pretty basic.
The UPS comes with all USB and coax cables.

The product came very well protected in the mailing box. It was easy to set up. Loading the software from the CD to my Windows 7 OS was easy. I have the Power Meter display on my monitor (see attached photos). The only products I have plugged into the surge/power protection plugs are the computer and monitor. My scanner, printer, speaker are plugged into the surge protector plugs only. I haven't had a power outage yet since I have purchased the CP1500PFCLCD UPS system so I can't write anything about how it works during a power outage. People did mention in the reviews how the beeping noise bothers them. I did hear the beep during the set up and if that's the noise I'll hear, it's not going to be a problem for me if I hear it. One more thing, it's heavy and it is approximately the size of my Dell Alienware desktop, so decide where you are going to place it

I have one of these on my home office computer and I love it, so when we upgraded our personal computer I bought one for that computer, too. I buy one that's bigger than what I "need" so that when the power goes out for a short time (which is not uncommon here), the battery lasts about an hour and I can reduce the power usage of my computer and just keep working.

The alarm is nice because it wakes me up if the power goes off at night. The silence button on the front is nice, so I can quickly/easily silence it while I take care of the computer.

First time going with a CyberPower UPS but so far so good. I have 2 workstations, 2 NAS boxes and some other miscellaneous network equipment connected to it with plenty of load left.

The bundled software is as basic as it gets and quickly detected the unit via a serial->USB cable (not included). The software has a log viewer & allows you to specify computer shutdown time up to 5 minutes. Testing the unit's battery capacity gives me roughly 15 minutes to UPS shutdown. Not bad.

Another plus is my Synology NAS (which stores critical data) detects the UPS via the included USB cable and makes for a clean shutdown in a power outage.

I would suggest getting some plug extenders if you'll be connecting more than 2 plug-in transformers... Otherwise I'm very happy with this unit.

This is my second Cyberpower unit because we had a direct lightening strike on the office building and because of our first Cyberpower unit we were the only office that did not loose computers, printers, phones, etc. The only item we lost was not protected by the Cyberpower unit. It did its job better than the units in the surrounding offices and so we are going to add another as we expand.
