This is my first Sony battery that really lasts.
Even though it was less than half charged when it arrived, the battery lasted long enough to take a lot of pictures, film some videos and check the photos over wifi on my tv with no problems, and take photos next day as well.
On my previous Sony camera (G Battery) with less than half of the battery charging time was coming ahead quickly.

    Does the Job

    By RP

Comments about Sony NP-BX1/M8 Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (3.6V, 1240mAh):

The Sony HDR-AS30V action cam is a great little camera. But it comes with just one battery and if you are in the field for an entire day you will quickly run out of juice. A spare battery is always a good idea.

Comments about Sony NP-BX1/M8 Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (3.6V, 1240mAh):

Buy the best batteries you can afford. Don't mess with off brand or third party batteries since they're usually not as reliable, can mess with your gear, or just fail.

This battery is OEM so I know I can trust it without having to worry about it ever. Bought it with a RX100mkIII.

I purchased this back up battery for my camera. I noticed that many of the generic products just don't hold a charge as long as the real thing. I suggest spending a few more dollars and go for the manufacturer's brand.

When shooting important events, my philosophy is don't take unnecessary chances. The knockoff/clone batteries are cheaper, but often just don't last as long. Sony makes good batteries.

I only buy manufacturer's replacement batteries. I have heard too many horror stories about off-brand batteries destroying equipment, so why take the risk. The few extra dollars are worth it. If this happens with an off-brand battery, you have nothing to stand on when making a warranty claim. If a manufacturer's battery ruins your equipment, at least you have an argument.
