The Sherpa 50 Solar Charging Kit with 110VAC Inverter from GoalZero is a complete portable power station featuring the Sherpa 50 battery pack, Nomad 13 solar panel and the Sherpa 110VAC Inverter. This kit is ideally suited for charging devices from smart phones to laptops and most electronics in between. The Sherpa features four fused multi-voltage output ports. The 5200mAh Li-NMC battery can be charged with the Nomad 13, other compatible GoalZero solar panels, and 110VAC or 12VDC.

The Nomad 13 Solar Panel is a durable and weather resistant charging system that can be used to charge the Sherpa 50, compatible GoalZero battery packs, or directly charge small electronics with the built-in outputs. It will even simultaneously charge multiple devices by splitting the output. The Nomad will charge the Sherpa in 8-16 hours.

The Sherpa Inverter provides a 3-prong 110VAC grounded outlet. The inverter matches the look and form of the Sherpa 50, and won't look out of place when it's plugged in. A mounting screw on the inverter securely attaches it to the Sherpa so it won't accidentally get pulled off. This mounting configuration allows it to be attached while retaining full access to the other ports, the battery indicator and switches. The Sherpa Inverter has its own on/off switch and LED power indicator. This kit is a useful resource for camping, travelling or emergency readiness.

Comments about GOAL ZERO Sherpa 50 Solar Charging Kit with 110VAC Inverter:

I wanted to have a solar charger on hand when out photographing just in case my batteries were low. This comes with the AC inverter to plug in my battery chargers. It works very well charging the batteries and after using 2 different chargers I noticed it used less than a 1/4 of the power packs storage. I like the fact you can charge USB devices with the solar unit. Another adapter sold separately will charge the power pack unit by plugging it into your automobile 12 volt (cigarette lighter) port, this is handy on trips. I like the fact I can now charge my devices wherever I go. The only downside to the kit would be the extra weight to carry around the power pack with the ac inverter in a back pack so my best choice is to carry the solar unit only when back packing. Other than that this a good quality product.

Comments about GOAL ZERO Sherpa 50 Solar Charging Kit with 110VAC Inverter:

Have tested the Sherpa system but have not used for extensive field work yet. While a bit on the expensive side, it has considerable utility and can be used to power/charge just about any device you can think of. Only initial annoying thing is the "kit" doesn't come with a 12v cigarette lighter adapter cord (just about everything including a full bag of laptop adapters do!) and has to be ordered separately.

Comments about GOAL ZERO Sherpa 50 Solar Charging Kit with 110VAC Inverter:

We were looking for a solar powered charger to power the myriad of devices that we take with us on camping and backpacking trips, and on overnight sailing excursions. The Sherpa 50 with the Nomad 13 panel was exactly what we needed. We can charge our device either directly from the solar panel or indirctly from the Sherpa. The best feature is that the Sherpa can be charged from the panel or from a 110 volt wall socket- allowing one to store charge for night time use or for those infrequent times in Arizona when there is no sun. The Serpa and Nomad work as advertised, they are small and lightweight and come with lots of accessory adapters. We are planning to always carry it with us when we travel.
