I purchased this item because of its price. I used it with my Canon G20 and had trouble balancing when I took out the LCD screen. Made several adjustments but could not get it going. Finally I decided to add some washers for more weight and now works great. Does not wobble. Because I had to add washers I deducted 1 star. You do need some patience with calibrating but its well worth it.

Disappointed with the product, not B&H who performed great as always. I tried it with a lightweight digital camera (Nikon L-105) and I could never get it to level out, even with all the weights on it and the camera set back on the pad. Additionally, there was a real tendency for the camera to sway from side to side because there is no counter-balancing on that axis. I guess I shouldn't have expected much for the price and that's what I got. It may still serve some purpose, maybe using it with a gopro may be better or I may try to modify it by adding a bracket & weights at the bottom which allow for balancing from side to side. But that will take some trial & error for finding the right modification. If I had it to do over, I would do more research and maybe spend a little more to find something that would be more helpful.

I bought this stabilizer based on a recommendation. It is a nice piece of equipment for the price. You have to be patient with it and get it some good practice runs with it before you're ready to shoot.

Comments about Vidpro SB-10 Video Stabilizer:

Tend to agree with many other reviewers of this product - which maybe I should have read before buying! It takes some time to get the balance right and if you change cameras or lenses you have to do it again, so it's not a matter of just attaching your camera and away you go. Still, once set up it performs as it should and delivers smooth and steady pans etc. I found the ball joint to work okay without any further lubrication but you do need to use all the weights supplied.

Comments about Vidpro SB-10 Video Stabilizer:

I am a professional photographer but I am starting to do some videos.
I purchased this stabilizer mostly because of it's price but I started to be disappointed after the first use. The thumbscrew comes un-attached, you have to attach it and it does not tighten because the sphere where it attaches rotates before it's tight. On the first use the gymball was not moving at all with the camera's weight so I put a drop of oil and it fixed it. Then on my first trip and after moving the stabilizer around on different flights and security (not fun), the thumbscrew fell somewhere and the stabilizer was useless for the rest of the trip. So I was never able to use it for a real video.

Easy to balance. Not much to it. The result is a faster setup time / balance. As for my circumstance I need a raiser for the camera to adjust focus on the move. But all in all it is a well built product for the price.

I bought and used in a couple of short movies where dolly is not available due to space, time, expense. Can easily handle a DSLR Canon 70D with external Rode but not much more as in description of the product. The 'ball' is distanced from the plate with two hand-cut rubber squares which I oiled and in addition added a bit of a space (paper) between the ball holding cup and a mount plate for less pressure. The stabilizer works a touch smoother and reacts more subtle.
