I use this with a top-load bag during hiking and backpacking trips. It allows me to have easy access to my camera gear without having to get into my backpack. The harness straps are thin and lightweight, which means that I can wear the harness underneath my backpack's straps without excess bulk.

The connectors that attach to the top of the bag are made of metal, which means you don't need to worry about them breaking and finding out what happens when a camera learns about gravity. The bottom connectors are plastic, which saves on weight.

My only complaint about this harness is the sizing: in only comes in one size, and it doesn't fit me all that well. I'm a woman and this harness was clearly sized for a man. There is no good way to compensate for the VERY different way that our upper-torso is shaped and the straps are too long even when they are made their shortest. As a result, the top of the camera bag refuses to lie flat against me, and since it hangs off, it can get tiring on my upper back and shoulders. That said, it's still an extremely convenient way to carry camera gear, and the sizing and comfort issues haven't stopped me from using it on week-long backpacking trips.

I almost wish that B&H had not stocked this;after an hour with a Toploader 75 AW carrying a Canon 20Dwith battery grip and EF 70-200mm 1:2.8,I am more than ready to take it off.Cosmos' shoulder pads help some, but not enough. On one hand, having the Toploader positioned foreasy camera access is great, but it puts my backunder unusual and uncomfortable stress (I only very rarely have back issues). It also bounces and squeaks irritatingly while walking. The main supporting straps slip in their buckles enoughto want retightening every 20 minutes or so.I am not particularly fat; perhaps having a more prominent stomach helps?

Comments about Lowepro Chest Harness for Topload Zoom Bags:

Bought this to go with the Lowepro top loader I bought a couple years ago. For a while, I had been backpacking with my bag as a holster on my hip, but decided it was too uncomfortable having one leg heavier than the other. Anyway, I started carrying the bag on my chest using my sternum belt. Then I discovered this was actually made for this purpose. So much better!

I got this harness to use with the LowePro Toploader Pro 70 AW Camera Bag so I can wear a backpack/day pack and have easy access to my camera without having to fish thru my pack to get it. It works as intended but I can't seem to get the harness to fit very snugly. I'm not a real large guy, but I'm not that petite either (I'm about 5'10" and about 180 lbs) so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if it just won't fit that snug.

I use this to carry a Thinktank Mirrorless Mover 20 bag and it works great. The price is unbelievably cheap and it is made well. I can't attest to it's ability to comfortably carry heavy gear but it makes carrying my Samsung NX system very pleasant. There isn't any padding but for my bag it's not important.

The case that I have is smaller and wasn't quite made for this harness. But I can attach a couple of D-rings to the bottom sides and it will be perfect. I can't wait to use it!

I like using this harness with my Topload 50 and 75 bags, but the 75 with Mk III and 70-200 2.8 L lens is a bit too heavy for my shoulders over a long day: it really needs padded shoulder straps for that weight, or just attach the bag directly to backpack straps w/ a short sling.

Best use for me is with the 50AW bag and t4i/lens, as the straps (and my shoulders) can take that weight over a full day quite easily, and is quite sturdy.

A good investment for the right use.

Comments about Lowepro Chest Harness for Topload Zoom Bags:

Bought this prior to backpacking trips in Alaska and Banff. Works well for backpacking and day hikes with poles and a heavy D3 camera, leaving your hands free and the camera up on your chest ready to go if need be. Easy to set up. Requires adjustment so that the weight of the D3+lens does not impede breathing -- you will need to adjust to have the weight up on your chest or down near your waist, although the latter choice is not as secure or tight. The harness works well during hikes requiring some kind of jacket/fleece for the cold/windy weather. I have not tried it over a thin T-shirt so I can't attest to whether it chafes. One thing that comes to mind on the con side is that since the bag is hanging off your chest, you can't see the ground immediately under your feet, which in the mountains can present a bit of a hazard, altough not an unmanageable one. Also, in field conditions, I found it easier to ask a friend to help me with the bottom straps rather than find them behind my back myself.

I like simple things. It's simple, works, and doesn't break your wallet. I got it for backpacking and haven't used it long distance with the pack yet, but comfortable on day hikes with the Toploader Zoom 50 AW bag carrying a Nikon D7000 & 18-200 DX. My total weight is pretty light at about 4.5 lbs and the lack of padding isn't an issue for me at all. Obviously, with enough weight it will be, but I think I could probably double the weight and be OK without padding.

This is nice and I might use it sometime. But, it isn't any more comfortable than the strap that came with my Top Loader Pro 75 AW Camera Bag. Maybe I would use if for very long hikes? For a few hours, I prefer the regular one.

I was unable to find this in Canada, where this harness is included with the largest Lowe cases but not the size that I wanted to use. It attaches to the four D-rings on the camera case with ease so can be easily removed when you don't want the straps. I wish that this had been included with my case, but still find it to be good value.

Comments about Lowepro Chest Harness for Topload Zoom Bags:
