The N-2204X 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod from Sirui is a great tripod for anyone who needs to pack light and reserve the option to, at a moment's notice, slim down their camera's support system to just a monopod. The N-2204X features a leg that unscrews and attaches to a second included mounting plate to form a monopod. And, differing from the N-2204 model, the N-2204X features a split center column for a fast and easy transition to low-angle shooting.

Reaching a maximum height of 65", the tripod itself is quite versatile in its own right – the N-2204X weighs just 3.3 lb but supports up to 33.1 lb thanks to its thick leg sections (only 3mm difference in diameter of successive leg sections) and carbon fiber construction. It's suitable for use with just about any head and any 35mm camera, DSLR, point & shoot, or camcorder.

The N-2204X tripod's legs fold upward 180° to achieve a relatively compact folded length of 18.1" – even with select head models attached. The entire package stays very compact to fit comfortably in most carry-on bags and many backpacks. A custom carrying case with padded handle is included.

The tripod's center column is reversible, and the N-2204X comes with a short center column so that you can set up extremely close to the ground for ultra-low-angle shooting. With the center column split and the long section removed, you can set the legs at their widest angle (80°) and shoot from only 6.7" off the ground.

The N-2204X tripod easily converts into a monopod.
A new split center column allows for faster and easier transition to low-angle shooting.
Carbon fiber construction offers a lightweight yet very sturdy build. It also does not react adversely to cold temperatures.
3mm diameter difference between each leg section for greater overall stability
Silicone twist locks for leg stages and anti-leg rotation system for faster, one-handed set-up
Automatic leg-angle lock mechanism for speed and convenience – independently lock legs into place at three different angles: 23°, 52° & 80°.
Short center column allows the tripod to reach extremely low positions – minimum height of 6.7".
An additional mounting plate attaches to the unscrewed monopod leg to mount a camera. A wrist strap is included for security in case the operator's grip slips.
Leg warmer/padding facilitate handling in extreme weather conditions and adds level of protection.
Center column hook allows you to add a ballast for a sturdier setup in windy conditions.
Reversible 1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16 screw on mounting plate enables the attachment of virtually any camera, camcorder, or head.
Well-designed padded travel bag with sturdy shoulder strap for carrying are included.

Comments about Sirui N-2204X 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:

I did extensive research and finally decided on this tripod. I was looking for a carbon fiber tripod as I wanted to do more macro and my other tripod was a bit heavy. I chose this one with the spikes in the rubber feet so when I am outside it will help. I've only recently purchased it and used it once but it seems to be able to due everything I need. Very sturdy and lightweight. I love the bag but knew that I'd probably have to take the head off for it to fit into the bag. I which there was a bit more room but it fits o.k with me cramming the head in the bag but off the tripod. I purchased the Acratech GV2 Ball Head/Gimbal Head
B&H # ACGV2BHQRLD MFR # 1152 and LOVE it after seeing another review. Along with this purchase I bought the Acratech Extended Universal L Bracket
B&H # ACEULB MFR # 1139 which goes on your camera and makes for a VERY fast change from horizontal to vertical without moving the tripod settings at all. And I also purchased the Novoflex Castel-Q Focusing Rack - with Arca-Type Quick Release (Requires Plate)
B&H # NOFRSAP MFR # CASTEL-Q to use on the tripod for the macro movements I would need to make when shooting macro. Again, not having to readjust the tripod.
The tripod case comes with a strap which you can use on the tripod it self. I also purchased this tripod as one of the legs comes off and can form a mono-pod. I'm still getting used to the twist of the legs to unlock verse a leaver but you can hear a light popping sound so you know it's locked or unlocked.

Comments about Sirui N-2204X 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:

I use this tripod with a ball head (Sirui K-20X) for landscapes and with a Carbon Fiber NEST gimbal head for shooting BIF, wildlife, action, etc. My camera is a Canon 7D Mark II and currently the largest lens I use with this tripod is a Canon 300mm f4L with 1.4 extender. It's not a huge lens, but I'm confident this tripod could easily handle my rig if I ever get the Sigma 150-600 Sport (a 6 lb lens), which is on my bucket list along with the new Canon 100-400 L USM II.I am a semi-serious enthusiast but by no means a professional. That said, I did do a lot of research and asked a lot of questions before I gravitated to this tripod. I feel that, for the money, I could not have done better. I am glad I went with four-section legs and not the 5-section version as I feel the four section will provide a bit more stability, even though it is a tad longer when folded up. This tripod is very light, yet very strong (Carbon Fiber). It is well made and comes with a very nice nylon case. The case has lots of nice extra design features. For example, there are two zippered compartments for storing odds and ends. One compartment is inside the case and one is outside. Also there is a little leather tab that covers the zipper pull on the inside zippered compartment. This is a small but nice touch that will ensure the zipper pull doesn't scratch the tripod and reflects the attention to detail that has gone into this product. It also comes with a nice padded carrying strap that can be used with the case, or can be used to carry the tripod out of the case. I love the "twist-to-loosen/tighten" legs! My former tripod (A cheap @ model) had the little flip tabs to loosed/tighten the legs. Not nearly as nice (and fast/easy) as this method, IMHO. I also love that one of the legs can unscrew and head mount screwed on so you can use it as a very nice monopod as well (and it comes with a nice wrist strap for the monopod). The Socket where the monopod legs screws into is a very nice, machined brass fitting! One complaint I had seen about this tripod that I'd like to address is the complaint that the case was too short to allow the tripod with the ball head attached to fit. This is true, however, at least with the K-20X ball head I bought, I found a good solution. The K-20X ball head comes in a very nice neoprene (sp) bag and will fit nicely between the legs, (open end where the legs come together in the case). Overall I could not be happier with this tripod! It is light and compact, easy/fast to set up, and very sturdy. One last thing: With the legs fully extended, it is tall enough for me (5'10") to comfortably use without the need to extend the center tube at all.

Comments about Sirui N-2204X 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:

Wow! Everything is in the box and the build quality seems really great. Nothing needed to be tightened down, and all of the parts work the way they should.
The Wow is about how big the outer box was when delivered, and yet when I picked it up, it felt really light!!! I have since compared my old wonderful Manfrotto in size and weight and I am really excited to go for the 1st photo walk with the new Sirui...additionally the included case is beautiful padded and constructed, and the strap can be used for the case or the tripod. The case has one outer zipper pocket and one inner zipper pocket. The strap is padded nicely, too.

Really well designed piece of equipment!!!

I have used this tripod a number of times since receiving it and I'm very happy with it. My only recommendation would be for the manufacturer to make the carrying case large enough to hold the tripod and ball head together.

Comments about Sirui N-2204X 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:

Having a very large and heavy Manfrotto tripod, and finding myself very reluctant to take it with me on outings, I began looking for a high-quality, lightweight alternative. I was overwhelmed with all the choices, and agonized over my decision. I wanted something that was:- Sturdy enough to handle a Canon 5DmkIII with 70-200 f/2.8L- Was around 3 pounds- Had a short or removable center column- Had a hook to add a weight- Had a strap- Was compact enough to fly commercial air or fit in a suitcaseThe more reviews I read and research I performed, the less sure I became. After six months of waffling over this, an impending trip to Europe forced me to pull the trigger.I chose the Sirui N-2204X and an Acratech GV2 ball head. I couldn't be happier with both choices. The build quality, fit, and finish of the Sirui is the highest quality - 10 out of 10. It's not an inexpensive tripod but I have absolutely no buyer's remorse and feel it's worth every penny. It comes with a very nice padded case whose strap can be removed and attached to the tripod as a carrying strap (they don't tell you this in the description). It is VERY lightweight. One leg converts to a monopod and has a wrist strap. The center column can be removed / shortened. The twist locks on the leg sections require only a slight twist to lock and unlock. With the Acratech head attached, the tripod still fits in it's carry bag (barely, but it fits). If, like me, you're struggling with the hundreds of choices available, I think you can order this one safely and confidently. I just can't find anything about the tripod that I don't like, and I, like many other reviewers, think this tripod equals or bests tripods from other manufacturers costing hundreds of dollars more.Hope this helps someone.

Comments about Sirui N-2204X 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:

I got the sirui N-2204x tripod to replace my older aluminium Bogen tripod. The Bogen was sturdy but way too heavy. The N-2204X is less then three pounds and can get down very low. I spend a lot of time crawling around in the woods to get the shots I want.
There are three leg angle positions and the 8x carbon fiber construction is very sturdy. I also like the center column which comes apart so I can set the legs down really low.
I compared a lot of different brands and configurations before deciding on this one and I feel I made the right choice. It is perfect for the gear I am currently using and should hold up fine if and when I move to bigger and heavier equipment.
I highly recommend this tripod or any other sirui tripod that fits one personal needs. Great stuff.

Comments about Sirui N-2204X 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:

Not only is this a light weight tripod but it folds up to a small enough footprint that I can put it in my carry-on luggage. Includes a short column which can be used with the tripod or with the monopod leg. Lower section of leg actually marked to assure consistent setup. Various set screws allow for lock down of head. Have a set of Gitzo legs and I think this tripod is on the same scale with it but for less money, WIN!
