Product Highlights
  • Adapts Hasselblad V Lens to Sony NEX Camera Body

The Adapter for Hasselblad V Lens to Sony NEX Mount Camera from FotodioX allows a Hasselblad V lens to attach to a Sony NEX camera body, including full frame NEX. Adapting a larger format lens to a smaller format sensor provides optical as well as practical advantages. The smaller image field helps minimize the effects of lens distortion and aberration by using the center or "sweet spot" of the larger lens' image circle, thus providing edge-to-edge sharpness.

Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or other electronic functions will not operate correctly while using this adapter. Manual or aperture priority mode must be used when this adapter is attached. Its all-metal design and polished surface provide smooth mounting and long lasting performance.

Built-in tripod mount
On Hasselblad lenses the iris can be manually opened, therefore the shutter does not have to remain open.
Infinity Focus Guaranteed
All-metal design; brass with stainless steel finishing

Comments about FotodioX Adapter for Hasselblad V Lens to Sony NEX Mount Camera:

This is my first adapter purchase. I have an underutilized Zeiss 80mm f/2.8 Planar T* lens for my Hasselblad 500 C/M and am hoping to get more use out of it on my Sony NEX-6.The adapter feels very solid and features all-metal construction. With lens, the outfit is pretty heavy for such a small camera; however, it balances perfectly on the integrated tripod mount (see product photo). I noticed a very slight bit of play in the adapter when mounted to the camera and lens, but nothing that affected usability or image quality from what I could tell. I probably wouldn't have even noticed it if the lens' focus ring was less resistant. One other note: I had to enable "release w/o lens" in the NEX-6 menu before I could shoot with the adapter attached. This may be obvious to those who have owned many adapters, but I had to look it up.

Comments about FotodioX Adapter for Hasselblad V Lens to Sony NEX Mount Camera:

I bought the adapter for Hasselblad V lens to Sony E mount camera from B&H because I have a f8/500 Hasselblad Tele Tessar lens and wanted to use it on a Sony Alpha 7R (full frame sensor). As the 7R's sensor is smaller than the covering circle of lens you are only using the 'sweet spot' of the lens and there is a total absence of colour aberration or any cut-off in the corners. It's a sublime combination, and although manual focusing is required it is quite fast and easy to use.
