It features a brass construction with a stainless steel finish as well as the ability to focus to infinity. This works with a leaf spring system for a secure attachment. Additionally, this lens features iris control from f/1.7 to f/22.

I bought this for my Blackmagic pocket cinema for use with Canon EF-lenses. For the price point, this little adapter offers quite a bit. Although not as fancy as higher-end speed boosters, this little adapter certainly does the job. Build quality is decent, and made completely of metal. The iris blades are crafted well enough to give you those nice circular bokkeh orbs, unlike other cheap adapters. My only gripe being the lens release switch. The sutble knob is not the most ergonomic, and digs into your flesh whenever you use it. The one drawback would be that there are no included caps for storage. I would recommend buying your own inorder to protect the iris blades, and keep some dust out.

I purchased this specifically to use on my BMPCC. I shoot a fare amount of commercial work with it because of its small unobtrusive profile. As a stills shooter, I'm a Canon 5DmIII guy, so I have EF mounts and would rather get more use out of the glass I already have. I felt like Metabones was playing it fast and loose with the term "affordable" so I went this route.FIT: The fit was great. No play, no wiggle. Rock solid.EASE OF USE:I knew this was entirely manual going in. Shooting video, manual is king anyways, so while I list this as a con, it's only noted for the sake of reference for those slacking on their homework. The f-stop ring is like butter. It reminds me of a nice drag on a fluid head. It can also be utilized while shooting.IMAGE QUALITY:Here is where I ran into my major qualms. Soft Focus - Obviously glass has a bit to do with the image quality, but the focus was dramatically softened while using this adapter, even when I double checked it with the focus peaking on both the BMPCC and the field monitor. Using Canon L and Zeiss glass, pro grade lenses, not prosumer glass. The Zeiss 50mm 2.0 makro-planar in particular is TACK SHARP on the 5DmIII...not so here. (Image below)Vignetting - The Zeiss received no vignetting but the Canon 24-105L and 70-200L did. Wide open, the vignetting is far less, so you better have a variable ND filter with you. Stopped in the 20 range, you're going to look like an amateur with the sheer amount of vignetting from the BMPCC. See pics below.I guess I'm shelling out $ for the speed booster...

Tough to get precise exposure easily. No Cato shown at all. Easier to spend more money and get the higher end speedo for proper exposure and no vignettes at all.

Comments about FotodioX Canon EF Pro Lens Adapter with Built-In Iris Control for Micro Four Thirds Cameras:

Has solid build and fits snugly on my GH4. Works great with my 50mm Canon lens, but vignetting is pretty apparent with my 18-55mm. I believe it is caused by the aperture blades in the adapter. This is to be expected, so not too disappointed. This can be avoided by getting an active adapter or a passive adapter with no iris control, but these options are either too expensive or not practical for me right now. This adapter allows me to use some of my nicer Canon lenses on my GH4 to supplement the M4/3 lenses that I own.

Well made and fits tightly. Its a bit annoying to control the aperture with the ring compared to the camera, but for the price its a great way to use canon lenses on a M43 camera like a GH4.

Comments about FotodioX Canon EF Pro Lens Adapter with Built-In Iris Control for Micro Four Thirds Cameras:

This product is to allow adaptation of Canon lenses to micro four thirds cameras. It allows NONE of the automatic functions to be transmitted to the lens. This information is spelled out in the description on the B&H site so this was no surprise to me. I was trying to use it on a Panasonic DSC GH1 which has a rather poor focusing screen. The end results using this combination was less than satisfactory.

I was pleasantly surprised with the build quality. The aperture blades form a nice bokeh, very round, lots of blades. I also like the ceclicked aperture ring and how smooth it operates. Fits nicely on my BMPCC and EF lenses. Solid fit. There is no optics in this so there's no quality loss whatsoever, just crop loss as is understood attaching EF lenses to Micro Four Thirds systems. Shipping was impeccably fast to Canada. I was seriously thinking it would take a little over a week, but got it in slightly over 2 days. This is my first purchase from B&H, I've always purchased these types of products either locally or if not available, through @. B&H has definitely won my business on this one.

If you don't need auto-control - say you want exposure control with an auto lens on a mis-matched body - this works perfectly. It seems to me as well made as any of the higher end adapters, and the price is nice due to lack of electronics. I recommend this piece, I'm really happy with mine.

I got this for using my Canon EOS glass with a Panasonic GH. Newer electronic lenses don't have aperature rings, so I needed an adapter that can manipulate the lens's aperature- which this does very well. It's hard to dial a precise f/stop... but since the GH is live-view all the time, it's easy enough to get the desired look and exposure by eyeballing it.Adapter worked great for me, and the price was really affordable for the quality and utillity of this peice. Excellent.

I bought this for my BMPCC and am not disappointed in anything about this adapter. It clicks into place solidly, and the lens does the same. Not a micron of wiggle so you know the mount on the camera is not being stressed at all.(Assuming you are using a rail system, I would still advise buying a lens support riser if you run and gun like me). The clickless Iris control is fantastic. You can actually fade to black in camera (or the reverse). SUH-WEET!

Comments about FotodioX Canon EF Pro Lens Adapter with Built-In Iris Control for Micro Four Thirds Cameras:

If it was not for this product, my GH3 would remain untouched even until now. I purchased the Panasonic camera GH3 over a year ago and I didn't purchase any lenses with it. Now, I am able to use my GH3 often all thanks to the FotodioX built-in Iris control lens adapter. I love canon lenses and I'm not too keen with micro-four thirds lenses. Anyways, this lens adapter support certain canon lenses such as the EOS lenses even the L -series. Unfortunately, it doesn't support EF & EFS canon lenses. However, during a low-budget music video shoot, I was able to duct-tape the EF/EFS canon lenses to the lens adapter. I know it sounds "ghetto" & crazy but it works. I realize that the EF/EFS lens flushes or completely levels against lens adapter's surface. I thought it would be a great idea to duct tape (tightly and securely) around the ring where it should mount. By taping around that ring, there were no lights nor dust coming to the sensor. Just be aware, adhesive tend to melt in a hot environment. I wouldn't recommend duct-taping a zoom lens. You can try. But it would require some extra tape around that ring. I managed to tape a zoom lens once, however, the glue started to wear off. But I noticed that ahead of timse before it fell. Whether it's duct-tape, gaffer tape, or camera tape, they should work fine. However, paper tape and scotch tape is definitely out of the question when it comes to the safety of your gear.

The price is very reasonably. It sold out when I wanted to purchase it the first time around. I take that it's a good product for a great price. I'm glad B&H have this item in their inventory.

                                JAH bless you all.

P.S. Not to mention the built-in iris control. However I wish it was numbered for instance (f/s 2.0, f/s 3.2, f/s 7.0 etc...) The diagrams (pictures of iris from open to close) on the lens adapter doesn't help much. I still give this product 5 stars.
