Comments about Glide Gear DNA 6001 Vest and Arm Stabilization Kit with DNA 5050 Stabilizer:

I purchased the DNA 6001 Vest and Arm Stabilizer Kit to use with My Canon EOS C100 with Sigma 18-35 Lens with Rode Video Mic all of which was purchased from B&H. Balancing my C100 was easy with a 40mm Pancake Lens however I need more weights if I was to use my Sigma 18-35mm Lens. I contacted Gliedgear and they were happy to send me additional weight disks in a few days. The company have pretty good customer support. I really love the Vest and Stabilizer arm. It allows me to get some pretty amazing shots and less weight on my wrist.

Comments about Glide Gear DNA 6001 Vest and Arm Stabilization Kit with DNA 5050 Stabilizer:

I use this product for a multitude of reasons. If you know what this item is then you get the idea. The material is strong. Arm tension mechanisms are sterdy and crisp. Locking points are connected Vwell. Vest is extremly versatile. Lots of body figures and fit to it. The cases that come with it are full of storage spaces. Plentfull amount of weights. Extremly adjustable weight section.Slides & different points etc.((Could be improved*))The attaching plate holes could be a variety of sizes so that anyone with any camera can find an easy accesible point to lock their camera to the plate. I was using Sony nex-fs 100 with a variety of sizes on the undercarriage of the camera.

Comments about Glide Gear DNA 6001 Vest and Arm Stabilization Kit with DNA 5050 Stabilizer:

The DNA 6001 Vest and DNA 5050 Stabilizer will help smooth out action video. With practice you can acheive results equal to those seen in movies and pro sports.

Your first attempts will not make you happy. Unless you have been a waiter/waitress or studied ballet more than 5 years you are likely to see more movement than you desire. Everyone says it takes practice. I agree.

The units are not flimsy but they are not robust either. All of the plastic connectors have a feel to them that warns you to be gentle.

Read the included instruction manual with all the parts out and ready for play. Mount the camera with a wide angle lens (>50mm} and set it up in shooting mode. A quick release system is a must. Take time to find the "exact" balance position for your set-up. It will require some experimentation and patience. Getting the 2-3 second "drop" time is important.

The unit works well with a Canon 5D MkIII mounted with various prime and 17-40mm lenses. Our Sony NXCAM HXR-NX3 is a bit heavier and seems to benefit because of it.

We rarely buy the "cheapest" gear ... this was an exception and we are happy with the results.

Cheap but gets the job done

Comments about Glide Gear DNA 6001 Vest and Arm Stabilization Kit with DNA 5050 Stabilizer:

Some of the pieces of this are clearly not made to last. Seems like it will work well enough though and you get a lot for the price. The cheapest dye divan with a best system out there.

Comments about Glide Gear DNA 6001 Vest and Arm Stabilization Kit with DNA 5050 Stabilizer:

At ~$ you cannot beat this system. It is surprisingly good. I watched a few pieces of test footage with this product before buying it, and I was a little nervous as it is the least expensive system I could find, but there is no reason to be nervous, this product is excellent and turned out to be my favorite piece of gear!I bought this product to use in professional applications such as independent films and music videos and it has impressed me. The quality of materials and build of the product is solid and durable. I use the Lumix GH4, Bower 35mm T1.5 cine lens, ikan DSLR baseplate and Dot Line Follow Focus F1 system on top of this thing. It's a little over 7 lbs, but I think that helps it. Really, the more weight you can get on the stabilizer, the better it will be. You could use this system with a DSLR or a camcorder. You could even get a stripped down RED on it if you wanted to.Set the telescoping arm all the way to the bottom for the best result. The farther away you can get the counterweights from the camera, the better. These types of stabilization systems have a high learning curve by nature. I admit, this product is not the seamless Steadicam Zephyr and will take some time to learn. But if you're willing to be patient, it is a great investment for a variety of professional uses!
