The Rokinon 16mm T2.2 Cine Lens for Micro Four Thirds is a wide-angle lens optimized for digital cinematography. The lens produces an image circle that will cover APS-C sized sensors or smaller. The focus and aperture rings feature industry-standard 0.8 pitch gearing for attaching a follow focus unit. The aperture ring is also de-clicked to allow for smooth iris pulls while shooting. Focus, aperture, and depth of field markings are on the side of the lens to aid focus pullers, who typically operates on the side of the camera.

The 16mm T2.2 lens is constructed out of 13 individual elements in 11 groups, including one aspherical and one hybrid aspherical element. Aspherical elements help minimize unwanted distortion and chromatic aberrations. The lens also has a multi-layer coating to reduce flares and maintain image contrast in bright conditions.

With an angle of view of 67.6°, the lens is well-suited for shooting landscapes, architecture, and for use in tight interior locations. A maximum aperture of T2.2 means that the lens is effective in low-light shooting and can produce a shallow depth of field when the lens is closer to the subject. The lens has a minimum focus distance of 7.87". A bayonet-mount lens hood and lens pouch come included with the lens.

Comments about Rokinon 16mm T2.2 Cine Lens for Micro Four Thirds:

I bought this lens because want to true Cine Lens that would work with my GH4 DSLR rig. Most of my Panasonic lenses are great but do not fit well with my follow-focus and matte box; they are too short. This fits perfectly and works perfect. The lens has a similar angle as my 20 & 25mm lenses. The clickless aperture was more important then expected when I shot a transition scene from exterior to interior. I recommend this lens for anyone wanting a good quality affordable MFT or APS-C sensor camera. A step up would be the 24mm T1.5 with a speedbooster but that is about double the cost. The only negative I can find is the near focus is beyond capability of lens.

Comments about Rokinon 16mm T2.2 Cine Lens for Micro Four Thirds:

For any videographer that is looking into dabbling into 2k and above... The Rokinon Cine Lens set is a must have. Stop researching and just buy the series. I use Black Magic Cinema cameras and the Rokinon 16mm MFT marries perfectly with my Pocket Cinema Camera, though it does make it a little top heavy, but honestly, it wont effect usability.

Ive been using the 16mm (as well as the rest of the Rokinon Cine Series Lenses) for music videos and event photography lately, and they have amazing quality, even in run and gun situations with varying light situations.

Low light is pretty good at t2.2 and will get the job done, however, I suggest using the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 for low light situations. The Sigma compliments the Rokinon series well in my experience anyways, so having it in your arsenal beside the Rokinon Cine Series is a good investment.

I love using this lens when shooting in RAW CinemaDNG format. Attached is a self portrait, using the Rokinon 16mm at T2.2 with the Black Magic Pocket Camera in RAW.

            Affordable.
            Quality.
            User Friendly.
            Nice Design.
            Works well for photography also.
Compliments on the Lens when I am out and about.

What more could you ask for?
A must have lens for any 2.5k and above Cinematographer looking for a Lens that can handle high quality Portrait shots that produce an excellent Cinematic feel to it.
