I needed a case to protect and carry gear while working, and wanted it to be an option for air travel. The 1510 fit that bill.
The only complaint I have is the long center divider. For most gear configurations, its fine, but I could see a use to have a shorter (or variable length) divider with the option of a perpendicular divider for even more configurability. I could see that having the option of being able to carry some gear and some clothing in the case could be pretty useful.
My "daily shooting" setup for the case holds 2 pro bodies with 16-35 and a 70-200 both with hoods attached, 300 2.8, batteries, flash, and some accessories. Having the hoods attached "wastes" some space, but one of the main reasons I had for buying the case was that I wanted something that I could have my cameras "ready to go" yet still protected in the car. If I'm arriving at spot news or stumbling across a feature, I didn't want to have to stop to find and attach hoods or get lenses on the cameras.
When I need longer glass, like for sports, I can get a 400 2.8, 70-200, 16-35, 2 pro bodies, 6 batteries, hoods, flash, and a charger with some space left for extra odds and ends.
This isn't really an issue for me, but if you are planning on using it for international travel, be aware that this case is pretty heavy. Fully loaded with gear, you're going to blow right by any international carry-on limits. For me, protection and the ability to carry-on domestically were the most important.
Bottom line, it's a great case and I've been happy with the purchase.

Pelican build quality is excellent - no issues there. I learned after buying this product, however, that the interior dimensions do not include the padded dividers or foam lid liner. So the case proved to be too small for my HDV video gear. I returned it and got the 1560 instead.

Comments about Pelican 1514 Carry On 1510 Case with Dividers (Black):
I use this to transport my cameras and other gear used to shoot weddings. It fits as a carry-on as I don't trust my equipment as checked baggage. Has been super durable and been perfect for the six flights I've had in the last two weeks. Protects equipment perfectly. Only negatives are that I have to disassemble my rig to put into the case, but it's a very minor negative since I am rarely in a situation that requires me to shoot two seconds after arriving on location, and since it is a hard case it doesn't fit wheels first as a carry on. It has to lay sideways in the overhead bin. Bins require one side of a case to be squishy in order to close with wheels in first. Would purchase this case again.

Comments about Pelican 1514 Carry On 1510 Case with Dividers (Black):
I bought this to hold my canon D series camera and lenses. It's the perfect size to hold a camera and about 4 lenses plus batteries and storage cards. Velcro dividers make it customizable and adjustable with changing gear. Case is tough and the perfect travel size. The only minor issue is the foam top on the inside is not fixed but I just glued it to the top.

Comments about Pelican 1514 Carry On 1510 Case with Dividers (Black):
I just got my pellican case a few days ago, and today i tested as it should.
I went to a swimming marathon at the ipanema beach, rio de janeiro.
I was on a small boat during the marathon, then i jumped in to a jet sky to get in to the beach, but it couldn't get too close, so i needed to jump in the water waste-high. I got wet, the case too, couse, leaved at the sand, than i washed with clean water on a shower still at the beach to remove the ocean water and sand to continue working. Perfect, no water or sand. Worked a feel hours more and then i went home. I washed another time before leave the event location and another one at home. NO WATER. Hard as a Rock.
Gear: 2 Canon bodies (7D and 5D), 1 Canon lens 70-200 f/2.8, 1 Tokina 10-17 fisheye, 1 Canon extender 2X.
Note: As it could be a CON for someone, i don't think a case like that can be called Bulky or Heavy, because it's made to handle tough situation, so not a CON for me.

Comments about Pelican 1514 Carry On 1510 Case with Dividers (Black):
For seven years that I've been shooting, I've always used a backpack, sling bag or shoulder bag for my camera gear. It is the easiest way to bring your camera gear anywhere else you go.
But for whole day shooting, carrying all the weight of my gear really exhausted me. This hard case is a joy to use since it has wheels so you don't need to carry it all the time.
The built is very tough and of high quality which will protect all your gears from breakage, dust or moisture. It has more than enough space inside to place all your equipments. Currently have a 5DII, 35 1.4, 70-200 2.8 IS v2, 580exii, wireless triggers, chargers, cables etc, and yet I still have room to spare inside the case.
You need both of your hands to release the handle but it is not a problem for me. It bends a little when fully extended but there's nothing to worry about.
The case itself is a bit on the heavy side especially when fully loaded but if this doesn't bothers you, then it is the best protective casing you'll need.

I use this case as my primary transport for my Canon T2i and accompanying gear. I have a lot of stuff and it holds it all with ease. Aside from the obvious benefits of the case being well built, secure and still light-weight, being able to configure the dividers makes it incredibly easy to quickly re-structure the case based on what you need with you.

Comments about Pelican 1514 Carry On 1510 Case with Dividers (Black):
This is my fourth (5th?) Pelican case. I've loved every other case, and the 1510 is one more to add to the list. Just the right size for carry on for air travel. Holds a lot, but not so much that it's impossible to carry. (My 13-year old daughter can carry it fully loaded.) I love the black dividers that are adjustable (wish Pelican made such dividers for some of their other cases.).
Highly recommended.

Comments about Pelican 1514 Carry On 1510 Case with Dividers (Black):
Not as big as I thought it would be but my gear fits perfectly and securely in it.I currently have my gripped 40D,Canon 300 2.8 and 70-200 2.8 sitting in it without a problem,I probably have some space left for another body and at least 2 more regular sized lenses. The case is really strong, so much that you can sit or stand right on it.Latches and handles are also very strong. If you value your gear, you cant go wrong with a Pelican case. Also if you have a lot of accesories as I have, dont forget to buy the lid organizer for this case. Its really hard to get it installed since the case does not have the screw threads, but I made them using a screwdriver and the screws themselves.Thats about the only negative comment I can think of it.Great way to store, transport and have your gear secured all the time.

The 1514 Carry on 1510 case by Pelican has dramatically eased my every day life. Before switching to the Pelican case,I carried thousands of dollars worth of professional camera gear in a flimsy backpack; always worrying about the safety of my gear. The Pelican case has eased all of my concerns. As well as protecting my gear, the Pelican case has organized my gear in a way that I no longer have to dig around for that dropped lens cap or loose battery, thanks to the dividers. I also do not know how I functioned without the rolling-case style that this case has. It was simple to put together, thanks to easy to follow directions, and was delivered in a very timely manner. I absolutely cannot find anything negative about this case! I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a safer alternative to a backpack or messenger style camera bag.

Comments about Pelican 1514 Carry On 1510 Case with Dividers (Black):
This is a great product and it's my go-to case when traveling. Its strict airline sizing means that it's much smaller than what most people get away with as a carry on. I use a larger Pelican case for storage and local road trips. However, this is the case that acquires the most scuff marks as its size and wheels make for a perfect travel companion.

An excellent choice for anyone who wants to protect their digital equipment! Lots of choices for organization and extremely reliable construction.
*They could have installed slightly bigger rubber wheels as it small wheels don't perform well on roads or side walks.

One small thing can be improved-handle needs two hands to pull out- not convenient when traveling. Other than that, it's well made, solid, versatile, great choice for professionals.

Very few items these days can be purchased with the knowledge that you will be leaving it to your grandkids in your will. The case has carrying handles on both the horizontal and vertical sides which makes it very convenient. I specifically purchased the 1514 because I prefer the Velcro dividers to the pick-a-part foam. I periodically change the configuration of what I store in the case and this type of divider set is easier for me to work with. I have never traveled on a plane with this case as a carry on, so I can't speak to its claim to be FAA complaint. I recommend the case to anyone looking for solid protection for your gear.

This Pelican case is the 5th addition to my family. I do concert video touring for a living and these cases live up to their reputation. I have everything from a micro case, which I use as a travel soap dish, to one I use to carry a Mac Pro in. I bought this case to travel my external hard drives, computer cables, video adapters, a apple bluetooth keyboard/mouse, and my Canon 7D accessories. It's perfect because it fits in overheard airline bins, can be picked up and carried easily, and has a handle and casters to be pulled.

I bought this case after reading reviews for a good case that I can use all the time to carry around my important gear and still be able to take it on a plane with me when I decide to travel. Saw that B&H has the best price around so I pulled the trigger on one and I love it! I keep my 5dmk2 in it along with some of my most used lenses as well as a few flashes and important goodies that I take around. Fits everything and most of all I know it's well protected.

Durable case that I feel comfortable strapping to my motorcycle to keep my camera equipment dry. I wish the dividers were a little more user configurable, the asymmetrical design is a little annoying, but better than the pick and pluck foam. Egg crate foam in the lid is not attached, so it always drops down on top of gear, but nothing a little velcro can't fix.

Comments about Pelican 1514 Carry On 1510 Case with Dividers (Black):
I purchased this case mostly for safe transport to photo shoots but found it to be so convenient, my equipment just stays packed inside even when I'm not traveling. very well made product, handles and hinges are built to last.
The lid organizer is a nice addition for lighter, loose items but beware that mounting it removes the nice foam lid pad that comes with the case. I bought a foam work mat that serves as a pad between my lenses and bodies and the lid organizer.. perfect setup.
I suggest using the padded dividers if you plan to fill the case with several lenses and bodies, the pluck foam if you want to protect a few items like a body and a couple favorite lenses.
