The Gates HC9 Mechanical Underwater Housing is designed for the Sony HDR-HC9 and Sony HDR-HC7 high-definition camcorders. The housing is small and compact. This makes it easy to travel with, yet the camera produces high-quality HD images. The camera's LCD is easy to see with the housings giant 2 x 3" (51 x 76mm) window, even in bright daylight.

The housing is constructed of bulletproof aluminum, an anodized and urethane-sealed finish with stainless-steel positive locking safety latches for strength and durability.

The housing provides total control of camera functions with reliable mechanical controls, crystal-clear optics and internal color-correcting flip-filter. Gates premium line of distortion-free ports provides the clearest, sharpest images possible; a no-compromises requisite for any HD endeavor.

Since it is a mechanically-controlled housing sealed with o-rings, you don't have to worry about being in a remote area and needing a soldering gun to fix a corroded connector.

The included Gates GP25A wide-angle port is a resilient and scratch-resistant polycarbonate port with a wide-angle lens giving you a 70° angle of view.

The kit also includes the Gates Niterider HID-II Pro 20 video light system with two single beam 14W HID light heads and two 12" articulating arms. The lights are constructed with nylon-reinforced high-strength polymer shells that will allow the lights to operate up to a depth of 500'.

The 14W HID lamp is 2-3 times brighter than a halogen bulb. Each light has a 6000° Kelvin color temperature and will cover a 90° area. A bracket to attach the battery to a housing is included.
