The Arca-Swiss V-Holder is an L-bracket that's not made for mating directly to a camera, but instead has an attached Arca-Swiss Flip-Lock quick release to accept cameras which have their own attached Arca-type quick release plate. It is meant to allow you to use your camera in the vertical orientation while still being directly centered over your tripod head, instead of off to the side such as when using the 'vertical notch' of a ball head. Having your camera aside the tripod and legset, cantilevered off in space, amplifies the inherent vibrations within a camera during initiation of an exposure. The V-Holder allows for less vibrations, and simplifies handling of your tripod because you don't have to move anything to change from a horizontal to a vertical exposure.
