The Pocket Wizard N90M-AC-ND Nikon Pre-Trigger cable connects to your Nikon D700's electronic release socket to enable your MultiMax Pocket Wizard radio slave set to trigger the camera's shutter remotely. This pre-trigger cable is intended to keep the camera constantly "awake". The pre-trigger switch can be set on or off to save battery energy. Once set on the "awake" mode, the camera will trigger much faster but will also use up more battery power.
This cable is only for use with the MultiMax.
