The DeckLink HD Extreme from Blackmagic can connect to SDI, HDMI, component analog, NTSC/PAL, and S-video equipment for capture and playback at the same time it switches between SD, HD, and 2K. It offers (2) channels of XLR analog audio input and output. This unit is well suited for use with HDCAM, HD-D5, HDCAM SR, Betacam SP, Digital Betacam, HD receivers, HDV cameras, televisions, mixers, and other similar equipment.
The DeckLink HD Extreme is different from its predecessor in its support of Dual-Link SDI and 3Gbs SDI. This functionality allows you to capture and play back 4:4:4 video when used with decks such as Sony HDCAM SR. It can also be employed to view real-time playback of 2K film resolution at 24fps with Blackmagic Design's HDLink Pro.
Other features include packaged software utilities, real-time effects, and compatibility with most standard video software applications. This unit is compatible with Windows XP and Vista, as well as Mac OS X systems. It is a PCI-Express, 4-lane card type that is compatible with 4, 8 and 16 PCIe slots.
