Boasting precise resolving power and superior light condensing power, this is an ideal unit for exacting observations in specialized fields.  Fujinon has applied their multilayer anti-reflection EBC coatings to each lens surface, and it is also sealed for extreme resistance to the elements.  As the model equipped with ED glass, this version provides enhanced resolution and edge-delineation performance, particularly in distant high contrast viewing.  If you intend to use this unit for comet hunting or observations of wildlife from a very distant vantage point, you'll definitely see the difference that ED glass makes.  With 40x magnification and a reduced 1.7° true field (versus 2.7° from the 25x150 model), the 40x150 is the best choice for those dedicated to longer-distance, smaller-subject study.

The 40x150 EDMT-SX is delivered without any mounting system, but there is an optional dedicated angled mount for full time astronomical use.  The 40x150 EDMT-SX also accepts the Polaris series of polarizing, haze, nebula, or neutral density eyepiece filters.
