The Q-36T is not really a flash, because by itself it will not function. It is a "lamphead" that is best described as a flashtube with an extension cord. It would be a nice accessory for your Qflash T or T2, if you want to mount a flashtube in a softbox and get Automatic exposure via the flash which is situated at the other end of the cord, well away from the softbox you are using it with. (This setup would not be possible previously) The Q-36T features a very small flashtube housing, with a 1/4-20" threaded hole for easy mounting and just enough room to accept a reflector. The other end of the 8 foot cord looks similar to the plug end of your flashtube. After plugging it into your Qflash T or T2, you are ready to shoot.

Remote Qflash Heads can be mounted to other Quantum mounting accessories such as the QF72 Multi Bracket. With the Remote Qflash Heads, photographers can shoot in all Qflash modes - automatic, TTL, manual, and stroboscopic. All Qflash accessories are compatible, giving a new dimension to light control with the Qflash system. The ability of placing this extremely small flashtube in a location apart from your Qflash X or X2 opens up a world of possibilities.

• Achieve Automatic with Softbox

Previously, it was not possible to get "Auto" exposure when using the Q-Flash with a softbox, because the sensor would be blocked behind the softbox itself. Now it can easily be achieved, unless you are using a softbox larger than 8 feet!
