Pioneer DVR-530E DVD Recorder provides for you advanced recording and playback features for your living-room audio and video entertainment. This ultra-slim DVD Recorder is equipped with an internal 80GB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) and provides you two convenient recording choices. You can now record your video projects either in the hard disk or in the DVD discs (DVD-R or DVD-RW). The DVR-530 is also a player; use it for DVD-Video, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD-Audio, Video CD, CD-R, CD-RW playback. This DVD recorder also allows playback of MP3, WMA files and JPEG pictures recorded in CD-R, CD-RW discs. For your convenience, this recorder comes with On Screen help button as well as a Home menu.

Pioneer DVR-530 has several outstanding features such as one-touch copying, editing video content, simultaneous copying (while you record or playback) or manual recording. Use DVR-530's hard disk to store important video content temporarily and then backup this video content in another recordable DVD disc. The hard disk can store about 227 hours of video content, depending on the quality you choose. This DVD recorder has a component video output for connection to a progressive scan compatible television. It also has one IEEE-1394 DV terminal to connect and store digital component video content from a DV camcorder. Use the USB ports for several useful connections.

In addition to video-mode recording for both type of recordable DVDs, you can use VR mode that provides comprehensive editing functions.

• NTSC, Standard PAL, PAL-60, SECAM Compatible

Pioneer DVR-530 is a multi-system DVD recorder. You can record in Standard PAL, PAL-60, SECAM, or NTSC. You can also play video content on a NTSC, PAL or a SECAM television, as well as NTSC content on a PAL television.

• Recording Convenience

This DVD recorder provides you some unique features such as optimized recording (adjust recording quality to fit recording in a disc), super high quality HDD recording, 16-bit linear PCM audio recording and picture quality adjustment during playback. If you try to record on a unrecordable disc, your desired program will be recorded in HDD. You can't record, however, copy-protected video on this DVD recorder.

• Preset Recording Quality Setting

Pioneer DVR-530 provides you six preset recording quality setting such as XP, SP, LP, EP, SLP and SEP. Depending on your choice, this feature allows you to extend recording time for both hard disk and DVD discs. For example, if you choose SEP instead of XP, you can extend recording time by a considerable amount. XP is the high-quality setting for recording. For HDD, you can also record in super high-quality XP+ mode.

• Chase Play

You won't miss the first part of a TV program any more! Using the timer recording, this feature allows you to record programs ahead of your availability. It then allows you to play back the missed part while recording the next segment of the program.

• Simultaneous Recording and Playback

Record at the same time to HDD/recordable DVD when you playback and watch another video program from the HDD or from the same DVD.

• Disc Navigator

Experience the convenience of the Disc Navigator! You now have easy access to the contents of HDD or the disc. Disc navigator uses moving thumbnails that also helps you for editing.

• Progressive Scan Component Video Output

Use DVR-530's component-video output to feed high-quality video signal to your TV. If your TV supports stable and flicker-free progressive scan feature, image quality is further enhanced due to higher resolution (compared to interlaced video).

• One Touch Recording and Copying

Use this feature to start recording immediately. For convenience, press One Touch Copy Button to perform copying a title from a HDD to a DVD or from DVD to HDD. Also copy your recordings in high-speed or in real-time (at different recording quality, for example, to save disc space) or even with copy-once protected feature.

• Dolby Digital & DTS Sound

Use the optical digital audio output to connect a Dolby Digital and/or DTS compatible AV amplifier or receiver for high-quality sound.

• Timer Recording Mode Using G-Code

For recording purposes, Pioneer DVR-530 also allows you manual recording mode to set 32 different quality (and time) settings, as well as LPCM and XP+ recording modes (for HDD). G-code allows you to select date, start stop and channel settings automatically - use it for your recording convenience.

• Home and Help Menu

Use the Home menu to find all the features, such as recorder setting, timer recording or editing a recording, in a convenient place. You also get the help from the Help button on the remote for the current operation.

• Convenient Editing

Use the Disc Navigator to edit video content. You can edit a video on a unfinalized video mode or VR mode DVD disc or on hard disk. Pioneer DVR-530 has a very sophisticated editing feature for both HDD and DVD-based video content.

• IEEE-1394 DV terminal

In addition to one component video output, this DVD recorder has one IEEE-1394 DV input terminal to connect and store video content from a DV Camcorder.
