The MZ-M200 from Sony is an ideal field recorder for musicians, radio journalists, and other pro-audio applications. It offers easy navigation, intuitive recording features, and an ergonomic design. It delivers high-quality CD sound with the convenience of MiniDisc. The MZ-M200 can record to either Hi-MD or standard MiniDisc, providing up to 34 hours of compressed audio on a 1GB Hi-MD disc. Hi-MD media is compatible with both PC and Mac, and can also act as a storage media for computer data, such as images and text files.

A bright Organic EL display shows recording and playback status. Use the Mic/Line jack to plug in a microphone for interviews, or a cassette deck to back up your old recordings to Hi-MD. The MZ-M200 has an 11-Level Meter Display for easy monitoring of levels from your mic or line input.

A dynamic normalizer provides a consistent volume level for tracks that may have been originally recorded at different levels, eliminating the need to adjust the volume of individual tracks during playback. A self-recording upload feature gives you the option to save in a WAV format in a designated folder on your hard drive when connecting the MZ-M200 to your computer. This allows for ease and flexibility when it comes to editing your recordings.

Other features when connecting the MZ-M200 to your computer include conventional MD USB upload, data file storage, and clock stamping. A two-way power supply lets you fully charge the battery via USB or AC Adapter.
