The Bogen/Manfrotto 055XWNB Tripod Legs with 3265 Grip-Action Ballhead replaces the 3221WN Wilderness tripod. In addition to the redesigned ergonomics of the leg-angle release mechanism and improved quick action leg locks, it also features retractable spiked feet, which makes it more versatile for outdoor use. It is lightweight and portable enough to take into the field, yet strong enough for medium format cameras, small view cameras, spotting scopes and the latest generation of digital video cameras.

The 055XWNB provides speedy set-up coupled with added security with quick action, lever-type leg locks, four position legs spread, low angle adapter, leg warmers, and retractable spiked feet.

The 3265 Grip-Action Ballhead is one of the quickest to use tripod heads available. The very act of taking your hand away from the grip locks the head into position, eliminating the extra step of having to tighten a knob or lever before being ready to shoot. You have immediate access to half of a sphere in which to position your camera. The tension of the ball can be adjusted to accommodate the load weight.

This head is not suitable for continuous tracking of moving subjects, since one must always grip the lever to release the ball and thus your hand would tire after prolonged use.
