The Fantasea FD-40X housing kit includes the Nikon D40X digital camera with 18-55mm zoom lens. This is a full-featured housing with interchangeable ports and a Nikonos style bulkhead for a very economical price. The housing includes the standard flat port for the Nikon 18-55mm zoom lens with zoom control. All essential camera controls including on/off can be accessed through the housing allowing complete creative control in your underwater photography. The housing operates safely to a depth of 200' (60 m).

Camera installation is quick and simple and the gasket seal can be checked visually through the clear housing. The rear lid of the housing has been designed so it is impossible to put it on wrong. This minimizes the possibility of flooding the camera. In the rare case the housing does flood, one year of DEPP flood insurance for the camera body is included. The insurance covers product defects as well as user error.

The double handles allow easy attachment of strobe arms. The housing is sized and weighted for near-neutral buoyancy and superb handling underwater. External Strobes are recommended to improve the images by bringing out the true colors and reducing the illumination of particles suspended in the water.

This Nikon digital camera allows manual operation with any underwater strobe. While i-TTL strobes in a housing will provide full i-TTL operation when connected to the housing with the standard Nikonos sync cord. An assortment of interchangeable lens ports allows use of most macro, wide-angle, and zoom lenses. A magnifier provided with the housing offers enhanced viewing while wearing a diving mask.
