Flat Stitch
A flat stitch is a series of images, where the camera moves in parallel to the level of the object being captured. This type of stitch can be simulated using images that have a very high focal length which is typically the operating mode of a scanner for example. Therefore, the 'Flat Stitch' function is very useful to easily scan an image whose format is larger than that of your scanner, such as maps, architectural plans etc.
Create Optimal Prints
Stitcher is the best way to create high-res panoramas which can then be printed in very large sizes. The user can fine-tune the settings to obtain "the ideal panorama" in terms of size, resolution and image format. Stitcher also calculates the best-size rendering setting, according to the original size of the input images.
Environment Maps
Thanks to a variety of rendering options (spherical, cylindrical, cubic), a panorama created within Stitcher can be integrated into a 3D scene in order to generate a background image, reflections and lighting with complete photo-realism. This technique consists of mapping a photo-realistic environment onto the interior of a cube or sphere using a 3D software product, then importing the various other elements which make up your project. The panorama is then used as a background decor and/or it is used to light you 3D scene or object.
Create Matte Paintings
A "matte painting" is a very wide picture which is used as a background image in special effects for films and videos. Stitcher allows you to create large-sized panoramas at high resolution, making it ideal for the creation of "matte paintings". This technique has been employed with very effective results in a number of top movies, including "Bewitched" and "Van Helsing". In addition, the interoperability with Photoshop now also enables you to edit your matte painting in Adobe Photoshop (or the software of your choice).
Virtual Tours
A virtual tour is created starting from a number of panoramas, connected with each other by a series of hotspots thereby creating a fully immersive environment. Virtual tours created with Stitcher Unlimited can be exported and viewed in a wide variety of formats: QuickTime is perhaps the best recognized, but also Flash, Java, HTML, Shockwave 3D or VRML are supported. Virtual tours are used in a number of fields, including property visits by real estate agents, visits to tourist spots, museums and other locations...
Create Imagery in High Dynamic Range
An HDR image is made up of a series of standard images (JPG) shot with different exposures. The first and the last in this series must make it possible to distinguish the most luminous details for one, and the darkest in the other. The process developed with Stitcher Unlimited is associated with external software such as Adobe Photoshop, Photomatix or HDR Shop, to permit the creation of HDR images.
Add Tripod Cap Image
You can insert an image which will be automatically aligned at the bottom center of your panorama to hide the tripod. .Use the provided tripod cap image which you can use free of charge, or you can use your own image. Insert it in your panorama and the cap image will then fully embedded in your panorama.
Publish Panoramas on the Internet
Publish your panoramic images to the web using a number of different formats including ImmerVision's Java-based Pure Player; XML so you can use your panoramas in the Shockwave 3D-based Spi-V Viewer from Field-Of-View; export in KML to geo-reference panoramas using Google Earth browser, or export to HTML with the using the template flash so you can use your panorama directly without any HTML code modifications.
Fish-Eye Stitching
Stitcher Unlimited is designed to stitch images captured with both rectilinear camera lenses and Fish-eye lenses. Fish-eye images are shots taken with an extremely wide-angle lens, as much as 180 degrees, and have considerable barrel distortion. Because "Fish-eye" lenses are designed to capture a very wide field of view, it reduces the total number of images you must take to complete the panorama, allowing you to shoot a panorama faster and easier. - 2-Shot Fish-Eye
It is possible to purchase the DS (DS for "Double Shot" or "Dual Shot") option, which compliments Stitcher Unlimited. The DS option allows you to assemble two images taken using a 180 degree Fish-Eye lens, and enables you to easily create a panorama with just these two images.
