The Xserve RAID Card from Apple is an expansion card for the Intel-based Xserve. The card features a hardware RAID controller with support for RAID 0, 1, and 5. It is a direct replacement for the Xserve's integrated SATA/SAS controller.
Features

Adding this card to your Xserve allows its internal drive to be configured in a hardware RAID configuration. It supports hardware RAID levels 0, 1, and 5. RAID 0 requires two or three drives, RAID 1 requires two drives, and RAID 5 requires three drives.
