The VuPoint Solutions FS-C1-VP Film and Slide Converter is an unusually easy to use image capture device that functions like a digital camera to digitize 35mm slides and negatives. It uses a square pixel CMOS image sensor and effectively "takes a picture" of your slides and negatives. This allows the unit to function quickly, capturing 5 Megapixel images at a rate of 2 frames per second and 2 megapixel images at an impressive 15 fps. And since it is not truly a scanner, there are also fewer mechanical components, making the unit more durable, and less expensive than most film scanners. The FS-C1-VP includes Arcsoft PhotoImpression 6 Image software so you can fine tune your captured images and a Twain-compliant driver that allows the unit to be used with most other software such as Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
