The DMC- FX150 features a 3.6x wide angle optical zoom capability equivalent to a 28- 100mm lens on a 35mm film camera. It also has Panasonic's Extra Optical Zoom which uses the center portion of the cameras image sensor to provide a zoom ratio up to 7.7x (35mm equivalent of 216mm) for images with 3-megapixel resolution or less.
