Product Information

The Mamiya ZDb Digital Back is a sophisticated tool that goes far beyond plain pixel counts, delivering truly special images for professionals and advanced hobbyists.

Seasoned photographers in the digital age are well aware that more pixels do not necessarily equate to better images-what is far more critical is the size of the image area, and the ZDb's large 36 x 48mm 22-megapixel CCD is capable of capturing details (particularly in skin tones) that are simply impossible with smaller system cameras.  Displayed at any size beyond a typical drug store print, they'll have a presence to them that's unmatched with 35mm-type SLR cameras.

The ZDb's equipped with a standard infrared filter, but also has an optional low-pass infrared filter (for dealing with moiré patterns) as well as an infrared-specific filter for specifically capturing infrared light as opposed to avoiding it (used in combination with infrared lens filters for forensic/scientific images).

As delivered, the ZDb can be attached to 645AFD III/AFD II, RB67 ProS/SD and RZ67 Pro IID, and with optional interfaces can work with a large variety of view cameras.  Because of the self-contained battery and memory systems, the ZDb is as practical in the field for use as is many a small SLR system camera.

Designed exclusively for Mamiya 645AFD III/AFD II, RB67 ProS/SD cameras.

Features

Expansive 36 x 48mm image area:  twice as large as 'full frame' 24 x 36mm SLR cameras, and over 4x the image area of popular 'APS-C' 15 x 22mm cameras

Able to capture extreme levels of highlight/shadow variance as well as delineate more tonal graduations within the increased range

Includes RAW, 9 JPEG levels, and simultaneous RAW/JPEG recording

Accepts both CompactFlash and SD/SDHC memory cards

Includes standard YB401 IR Cut Filter YB401 to eliminate infrared & other invisible light, with optional YC301 Low-Pass Filter to reduce false color/aliasing/etc. found upon digital images of clothes with repeating patterns

Optional #310-222 IR Photo Filter allows infrared light to be captured, facilitating unique scientific/forensic/creative images when combined with specific lens filters

Maximum capture rate of 1.2 images/second (highest resolution), with bursts of up to 22 images

Mamiya's included Digital PhotoStudio Software allows computer to control exposure settings, metering, ISO, shutter actuation, and even focusing-allowing photographers to set up product/still life/document shots and fine tune exposure without touching camera or lens

Beta version of Mamiya's Capture software, available for downloading, allows control over all camera functions through computer without needing full version of Mamiya's Digital PhotoStudio software

Lockable capture folder feature prohibits the accidental deletion of captured files

Intended for use with view cameras via proprietary back adapters
