It's capable of reproducing high-quality video imagery with sharp backgrounds, while eliminating motion artifacts from moving objects within the video frame.

• Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD

If you have a 7.1-channel home theater receiver - you're in luck - this player is capable of decoding Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD audio. Dolby Digital Plus uses less compression than regular Dolby Digital to reproduce fuller and more dynamic sound effects with up to 8 discrete channels of surround sound.

• DTS-HD Master Audio and High-Resolution Audio

It offers both DTS-HD Master Audio (Essential) and High-Resolution technologies. DTS-HD Master Audio (Essential) supports bitrates up to 24.5Mbps, 7.1 discrete channels of 96KHz/24-bit audio, and is ideal for HDMI Version 1.3 cables. This technology reproduces true-to-life audio the way the director intended. DTS-HD High-Resolution Audio also offers 7.1 discrete channels of 96KHz/24-bit audio, but only supports bitrates up to 6Mbps.
