An ultra-fast f/1.8 lens allows photographers to take better photos in low light, and delivers shallow depth-of-field, giving them the ability to blur the background of their images. The new high-performance 1/1.7" CCD sensor is larger than sensors typically found in compact digital cameras, and high sensitivity (max ISO 3200), together with Samsung's imaging processor, ensures that the TL500 can capture high-quality images, regardless of the lighting environment. The 24-72mm (35mm equivalent) ultra-wide 3x optical zoom lens allows photographers to capture more of a scene, from a beautiful landscape to groups of friends or family.

Advanced Options

The TL500 supports RAW as well as JPEG files, giving photographers full control over their images with shutter priority, aperture priority and full manual shooting modes. A photographer can experiment with features such as slower shutter speeds and depth-of-field; for those who prefer convenience over manual controls, the TL500 offers Samsung's Smart Auto (Still & Movie) scene recognition technology. Operational for video recording (640x480/30fps/H.264) and still photos, this feature analyzes a scene and automatically selects the appropriate settings for the best results possible--it's effortless and users don't have to sacrifice image quality for simplicity.

Shooting Modes

The TL500 has a wide variety of shooting modes available, including color style options like Soft, Vivid, Retro, Cool Calm, Classic, Negative, and Custom RGB; Smart Mode, which recognizes and optimizes settings for common situations like Landscape, Fireworks, Night Portrait, Macro, Beach, Snow, Backlit Portrait, Tripod, Sunset, Dawn, etc.; and Smart Filter, which can give you the look of a fish-eye lens, old-fashioned vignetting, and "miniature" effect that makes the scene you shoot look like a miniature model (through selective focus).
