The TouchSmart 600-1055 All-in-One Desktop Computer from Hewlett-Packard is a compact desktop computer with an intuitive touch-screen interface. This design aesthetically complements any work environment or living room. A wireless keyboard and mouse are included to accentuate the clean desktop look that this computer gives you.
HP includes the powerful TouchSmart software suite that facilitates interaction with the computer by touch. It allows you to create music playlists, watch videos, organize photos, read RSS feeds, browse the web, manage your calendar, and record notes: all by touch.
The system is powered by a 2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P7450 processor and boasts 4GB of RAM, a 750GB 7200rpm SATA hard drive, a SuperMulti DVD Burner, and NVIDIA GeForce GT230M graphics. The built-in HDTV Tuner lets you watch, pause, rewind, and record live TV. Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit), along with its included multi-touch accessibility features, ties all this hardware and software together.

Still love the computer, however, I live in foothills and am restricted to dial up service. I would have appreciated something that would have told me that I need to get a modem to use dial up on this computer, as there is no phone hookup on this computer. It took me an extra day of researching what I needed to function after finding no hookup.

I bought the HP Touchsmart 600-1055 to replace my old 17" laptop which was used as a portable desktop replacement. Although the portability is gone, it can easily be slid around a table or moved from room to room. The performance is great for day to day use--running multiple programs and watching movies or playing games. This computer has excellent entertainment value. It can play Blu-ray discs and can be used as an HDTV to play console games or watch cable programs. What is impressive is the plethora of inputs available, and you should take the time to review them. The multi-touch feature is only useful for minor functions in daily usage, such as opening or switching programs. The HP touch software is more of a gimmick and needs more development. Another drawback is the weakish graphics card, but then again, this isn't a gaming computer. If you want a computer with a range of features that can do everything (at a compromised level), this computer definitely fits the bill and will most certainly be something you will use everyday.
