Using Lighting Techniques in your Photographs to Achieve an Old Master's Style
Monday, March 8, 2010  |  3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Speakers: Thorsten Overgaard
Event Type: Photography
Skill Level: Basic
There’s a direct line from the painters in earlier centuries to today’s photography. Back then they painted light with oil colors, today we do so with digital sensors and computers. Thorsten Overgaard is known for the classical Scandinavian natural simplicity in his photographs and will be going over how to use quality light in today’s photography – from the set to the lenses and how to actually paint photographs with light on the computer – in ways that are natural and align with the tradition of imagery. What can we learn from the old painters who used paint and brush instead of cameras?
