Close-up Strength for NL +4
The +4 diopter of this close-up lens is the right power for closer focusing with a 50mm lens (up to approx 1:3). With an 85mm (up to approx. 1:2.1) and 100mm (up to approx. 1:1.9) telephoto lenses, it is the highest power, and it should be used with the main lens stopped down to at least f/8.

The filter ring is made from brass, yielding a stronger product. Brass filter rings are also less prone to jamming. In addition, the seal between the glass and filter ring is exceptionally strong giving the filter added strength and durability. The filter is legendary and synonymous with the highest standards of filter production. It comes with a solid 10-year warranty.

Note! B&W close-up lenses are available in different "powers" (diopters)

These lenses can be used individually or in any combination to achieve ultra-close focus
The maximum magnification achieved with these attachments will depend on the focal length of your lens as well as the actual close focusing capability of that particular lens
A +1 close-up lens will allow you to focus your lens somewhat closer than it already does; a +2 close-up lens will allow you to focus closer than the +1; a +4 lens will allow you to focus even closer than a +2
A +1 combined with a +2 will equal a +3, while a +2 combined with a +4 will equal a +6, and so on

It is a pretty okay diopter. Though i was expecting to be able to shoot as if it was macro and found thatit was not as good as any macro could be

            Comments about B+W 67mm Close-up NL +4 Lens:

I needed this diopter in order to use the Canon 17-85IS with an Ikelite port. I was able to get some solid underwater shots on a great white shark dive at Isla de Guadalupe, as a result of using this diopter, so I don't really have anything negative to say about it.

                  Comments about B+W 67mm Close-up NL +4 Lens:

This diopter really extends what you can do with a lens that isn't otherwise suited for macro. It really does soften the corners, and you lose a stop or so of light, but for the money, it's WELL worth it.

I liked what I was getting out of my mid-range zoom with diopter so well that I turned right around and bought the 100mm f2.8 USM Macro! I still need the diopter in my underwater housing.
