With B&W Close-up lenses, you can dive into the world of macrophotography with a minimum of expense and with a maximum of confidence.

Close-up Strength for NL +5
With a +5 diopter, the NL 5 serves for the seamless extension of the range provided by the NL 3 close-up lens on a 35mm main lens (up to approx. 1:3.5). If you can tolerate a small gap after the NL2 close-up lens on a 50mm main lens (approx. 1:4.4-1:4), then you enter a little farther into the macro range with the NL 5 instead of the NL 4 (up to approx. 1:2.6).

The filter ring is made from brass, yielding a stronger product. Brass filter rings are also less prone to jamming. In addition, the seal between the glass and filter ring is exceptionally strong giving the filter added strength and durability. The filter is legendary and synonymous with the highest standards of filter production. It comes with a solid 10-year warranty.

Note! B&W close-up lenses are available in different "powers" (diopters)

These lenses can be used individually or in any combination to achieve ultra-close focus
The maximum magnification achieved with these attachments will depend on the focal length of your lens as well as the actual close focusing capability of that particular lens
A +1 close-up lens will allow you to focus your lens somewhat closer than it already does; a +2 close-up lens will allow you to focus closer than the +1; a +4 lens will allow you to focus even closer than a +2
A +1 combined with a +2 will equal a +3, while a +2 combined with a +4 will equal a +6, and so on

      Comments about B+W 67mm Close-up NL +5 Lens:

Be careful. This does not work well with all lenses. Most long lenses of 70mm or greater are very very soft and have a glowing halo around everything. Other wider lenses seems ok but the effect is lessened on wider lenses.Bought it specifically for the Canon 100mm f/2.0 to try and get a little closer and the halo effect was terrible. It is almost like a soft fuzzy chromatic aberration (CA) all around every edge. Tried it on my Tamron 70-300mm with the same results. Tamron 17-50mm, Sigma 30mm f/1.4 seemed good but the magnification effect was minimal as close-up filters are more effective on longer focal lengths at least according to this article which is one of several reasons I decided to try close-up filters over other options... Comments about B+W 67mm Close-up NL +5 Lens:

I use the Close-Up NL +5 lens for those unplanned times when a macro opportunity presents itself during daily shoots. While this little addition won't get quite as close as my macro gear, it makes up for it in ease of use. It's very lightweight, with a sturdy carrying case, and attaches right onto the mounted lens. Instant close-up!
While this item will never replace macro-lenses, I will always have it in my pocket. Well worth the price!

        Comments about B+W 67mm Close-up NL +5 Lens:

This +5 close-up lens is a great way to get into macro photography if you can't afford a real macro lens or if you are just starting and want to see if you will like macro work.

This close-up lens does not seem to affect the sharpness of the main lens unless you enlarge to a great extent. Only problem seems to be the fact that the camera does not autofocus when this lens is attached (I have a Nikon D80). This is not a real problem - I switch the main lens to manual focus and fine tune the focus by moving the camera toward or away from the subject. No big deal...

I highly recommend this attachment if you do not have a true macro lens.

          Comments about B+W 67mm Close-up NL +5 Lens:

This particular size at 5X is a great filter. I got 2 and love that they stack well. I did notice that the glass rubs slightly in the center when they are stacked. But great glass for the $. I have a macro option for my kit lens now!
