this product is screwed into the filter ends of two lenses in order to attach the lenses face to face. im using it to attach a 50mm prime to a 250mm that is attached to the camera, and it gives me about 5:1 macro ability. If you've got two lenses like this, this macro coupler gives you super macro ability at a bargain. Just make sure to check your filter sizes on the lenses you are buying this for and make sure to get the right size.
i have no complaints about this coupler - that being said my only complaint is in the technique itself. it requires you to be very close to your subject and your DoF is almost non existent.

Comments about General Brand 52mm to 58mm Macro Coupler - For Mounting Lenses of 52mm & 58mm Face to Face:
I use the 52-58mm coupler to connect a Canon f/2.8 100mm macro L to an f/2.8 Canon EFs 60mm lens. The coupler is metal and it's very strong. I showed the coupler to a fellow photographer and he immediatly ordered one for himself.
You can't beat the price, and B&H always has them in stock.

I used the product reverse mounting a 50 mm f/1.8 and a 55-250. It feels safe, and amazing results for a very cheap macro solution. Attached a couple of photos to give an idea.

Comments about General Brand 52mm to 58mm Macro Coupler - For Mounting Lenses of 52mm & 58mm Face to Face:
I'm new to photography, so I bought this to try macro shots before spending money on a dedicated macro lens. Works great! Attached my 55-300mm lens to the camera, then attached my 18-55mm with the coupler to the 300m lens. I was able to get nice macro shots of salt & pepper.

Everyone should grab one of these even if it's just to use on a rainy day. It's metal it laces on smoothly and gives you a chance to experiment with macro before spending a ton of money on a dedicated macro lens

Comments about General Brand 52mm to 58mm Macro Coupler - For Mounting Lenses of 52mm & 58mm Face to Face:
Does exactly what I needed it to. In my case, I can have my Nikon 50/1.8G mounted on my camera, screw on this ring, and then screw on my reversed Nikon 50/1.8 Series E. Allows for macro photography (high reproduction ratio) for super cheap.
Made out of metal, appears to be painted black, not sure how that coating will hold up, but it screws on fine right now! I'd highly recommend!

Does what it says. Crazy close macro!!
Ring doesn't seem to stick as much as filters or step-up/down rings.
Awesome.

Comments about General Brand 52mm to 58mm Macro Coupler - For Mounting Lenses of 52mm & 58mm Face to Face:
I expected this coupler to be plastic. It's metal, so it's a LOT stronger than I expected it to be. Works just as described. I use it on my 100mm f2.8 to mate my 50mm f1.8II to it. If I calculate correctly, this gives me 3:1 magnification.

Comments about General Brand 52mm to 58mm Macro Coupler - For Mounting Lenses of 52mm & 58mm Face to Face:
I selected this product as a an inexpensive way to get into macro photography. I have a 50mm and a 70-300mm lenses, and by putting the 50mm reversed with this ring on top of the zoom lens I get less than 0.9:1 magnification which is huge for the price paid.
The ring holds securely both lenses and lets them operate as one.
Great product for the price.

I am reverse coupling a 1.4 50 mm onto a 2.8 100 mm. It works fantastic. I can take extreme macro pictures. Pros. Works fantastic. Cons. It's small, but that's the nature of the beast.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do but there is a very large vignette. Expect to do a reasonable crop if you want to have these shots printed....
But hey... Macros for 7 bucks.... can't complain

Good quality and build, knurled edges, mat black finish, it does the job. As it's small, I leave it on the lens to prevent losing it! The only fault is that it's 2 threads wide on each side when it should be 3.

Comments about General Brand 52mm to 58mm Macro Coupler - For Mounting Lenses of 52mm & 58mm Face to Face:
Works just the way it's supposed to. No problems at all. The 58-52mm threads are perfect to mount my 100mm macro lens to my reversed nifty fifty. No vignetting, perfectly clear picture. If you don't want to spend $900 for a Canon MP-e macro lens just to go beyond life-size macro, this is the way to go.
