The FirePro V3900 Graphics Card from HP is a workstation graphics card intended for professional applications, including computer aided design and digital content creation. Having a dedicated graphics card not only helps display graphics render faster and with more detail it also allows GPU-aware applications to shift part of their workload onto the graphics card.
This version of the FirePro V3900 features 1GB of DDR3 RAM over a 128-bit memory interface. In addition there are 480 stream processors, which not only act as general-purpose shaders for rendering display graphics, they also allow applications that support parallel processing to perform dozens of simple computations simultaneously.
The card can be connected to a variety of different types of displays. It features a DVI-I (digital and analog) port as well as a DisplayPort output. The DisplayPort port supports the DP 1.2 specification, and both outputs support HDCP when connected to digital displays. Together they can drive two displays with a combined resolution of 5120 x 1600 (2560 x 1600 per screen).
- Popular API Support
- Supports DirectX 11.0 and OpenGL 4.2 APIs; through these APIs the graphics card is able to provide additional compute power to GPU-aware applications
- PCI Express 2.1 x16 Interface
- PCI Express 2.1 provides double the bandwidth of PCI Express 1.x given the same slot width, and retains backward compatibility with PCI Express 1.x motherboards
