The GeForce GT 640 Gaming Graphics Card from ASUS is a computer graphics card geared toward gamers and enthusiasts. The card is designed to give the end user the flexibility to set parameters such as clock speed, voltages, and fan levels based on their own preferences. And it includes the ASUS GPU Tweak utility software to aid in making these adjustments.
This version of the GT 640 features a 901 MHz GPU with 384 CUDA Cores (stream processors) that allow applications that support parallel processing to perform dozens of simple computations simultaneously. To help move data to and from the GPU as efficiently as possible, the card features 2GB of 891 MHz GDDR3 RAM over a 128-bit memory interface. Because DDR3 RAM moves data at two words per cycle, the effective memory clock speed is 1782 MHz.
The card can be connected to a variety of displays, including computer monitors, HDTVs, and projectors. It features an HDMI port with HDCP support so you can watch copy-protected video sources such as Blu-ray DVDs, two DVI-D (digital only) ports, and a VGA port for analog displays.
