The UVX-3P Virtual Synthesizer from Big Fish Audio is based on Roland's JX-3P analog synth. The JX-3P signaled a shift away from control-dense synths like the JUNO and JUPITER series for an entry-level aesthetic aimed at players who wanted the Roland sound without being distracted by a slew of controls. While more straightforward in its design, it even boasted dual DCO's per-voice compared to a single in the JUNO series making it somewhat of a sleeper powerhouse.
The UVX-3P was developed by restoring a JX-3P factory specs, after which it was programmed by members of Big Fish Audio's sound design team and sampled both dry and with the built-in analog chorus enabled. The result is over 160 presets.
