This filter is for black and white infrared film when you only want to transmit the infrared spectrum and none of the visible spectrum. Filter factor is determined by the film sensitivity.
Lee gelatin filters are available in 3 x 3" (75 x 75mm), 4 x 4" (100 x 100mm).

Awesome that sheets are still available so you can create whatever custom filter accessory you need. BE SURE TO READ ABOUT THIS PRODUCT BEFORE BUYING, the spectrum of the 87 filter line can be found at dpfwiw.com/ir.htmYes, very flimsy thin film so you'll need to mount it yourself. OH! and best price over Kodak for the same results!!!!

Comments about LEE Filters 4x4" Infra Red #87 Infrared Polyester Filter:
These filters work with the Lee holder system. I recommend using them with the filter mounts to protect them and make handling easier. Another advantage of these filters is that they can be cut to fit different cameras, eg., compact cameras, that would otherwise be difficult to fit with filters.
The #87 is a good general purpose infrared filter, but I wish that Lee would also make an 89B.

Using it as a filter over a night-vision camera. It works!
