Not so swell with Canon
We thought this product would work with Canon flashes too, but it doesn't seem to be too reliable.

Only used at one event so far (thus the 4 stars) but they apear to be the answer to my mis-fires with my pocket wizards and 580exII flashes. Had many issues with the cables coming loose or just turning in the socket causing flashes not to fire. Used this cable on Saturday and the flash fired consistently all night (except when the batteries were due to be replaced in the system.) Only thing I don't love is that the chord is a little long but it is a minor issue.

If you want to use something like a 580EXII with an Elinchrom or similar receiver, this cable is perfect and the connection the to flash screws in and is secure - should come in the box with the receiver - duh!
Extra coil of cable is probably not necessary, but otherwise great connection.

Like many others, I've struggled using my PocketWizard Plus IIs with my SB-900 speed lights because the standard cords don't create a reliable connection, so I normally use an SB-800 with them. With this cord, the fit is tight and the screw-in connection ensures a lasting fit. If you're going to use the PW Plus II with an SB-900, go ahead an order one because you eventually will anyway.

This is a good cable if you are using a PW Plus II in conjunction with an on-camera flash. I just wish it was shorter. Very solid connections though.

Just months after I bought my pocket wizards the cords that came in the box starting just coming out of the connection - wouldn't stay put. Someone suggested I purchase these and now I can use my pocket wizards without having to hold in the PC cord contact. These are great, and actually should just come with the pocket wizards since the order cords are so awful.

I was using a regular sync cord to connect my pocket wizard to my sb900. I was never sure when the flash would fire... I had to put tape on the sync cord to keep it from falling off.
With this cord, there are no more missed flashes. The screw lock connects to the flash and does not come off... wonderful.
If you are using a cord without a screw-Lock, then you should absolutely get this cord... you will not regret it.

My PW synch cords continually came disconnected from the camera body, resulting in blown shots. Now, the cord stays firmly locked to the cmaera and I can shoot with more confidence.

Comments about PocketWizard PC5N Locking PC Sync Cable - 5.0' (1.5 m) Coiled:
My standard synch cords came loose from the camera end all the time. I had developed a habbit to cover the camera/synch cord connection with my left thumb when I raised the camera to shoot, to make sure the cord was plugged in.
This cord screws securely, but not easily if you have big hands, into the camera and will not come loose. Amen. I only wish the cord was available in a shorter length.

I finally ordered these cables after many months of frustration with the standard miniphone to PC cable that comes with PocketWizards. Honestly I LOVE these cables. No more miss-fires, no more frustration, just a rock-solid connection 100% of the time. These cables are perhaps a tad pricey but they are very well constructed and they do their job perfectly. Even though the description says Nikon, I use them exclusively with Canon 580EX II flash. Highly recommended if you are having any trouble with the standard cable.

I use it to connect a pocket wizard to a Nikon SB800 and SB900 and it works great. My old cord would come loose, but this one holds tight since it screws in.

I use this cord to connect my Nikon SB-800 to my PocketWizard transceiver when using flash off camera. I use to have problems with using my flash outdoors with the Creative Lighting System. The signal between my camera and flash wouldn't always work when I needed to, and now all problems are solved with the PC-5N. Would recommend this to anyone using their Nikon flash off camera.
