Although the Pocket Wizard system allows you to fire your strobe from your camera without a wire between the two, the receiver still needs a wire connection to your power pack or monolight.
If you have all the sync cords you need, this PC Female to Miniphone plug adapter is all that is needed to connect your new Pocket Wizard Plus or Receiver to whatever PC Sync cord you have.

At the advice of a BH technician, I picked up a couple of these to use as backups if I ever lost a sync cable or one became damaged. This product allows you to effectively convert the PocketWizard output to a PC female. I did a shoot with a friend that had totally different strobes then I did, but because of this adapter, I was able to use her strobes sync cable with my PW's.
A must have for any serious photographer working with remote lighting.

I have been in electronics for over 20 years and these adapters are the most expensive adapters I have ever had to buy. Had to buy to make my pocket wizards that came with pc female ends to work with my photogenic strobes. They were cheaper than the whole cable assembly that already had the right ends on them.

I was told by another camera store that in order to use the new Pocket Wizard Plus II Transceivers, I would have to replace my current strobes with new ones because the Plus II would not connect to my current strobes. B&H offered a low cost adapter solution that has worked great everytime with my new Plus II Transceivers. I may eventually replace my aging strobes, but these adapters allowed me to first make sure I could get the range and positioning that I needed with a top brand transceiver first.

I recently purchased some Alienbees B800s for my home studio and discovered I needed this adapter to make them fire (cable-free) with my Pocket Wizard Plus II's. I think the price is a little extreme for this tiny adapter, but if you want to move about your studio freely without having your camera connected to one of your flash units by the supplied cable, it's a must have item.

Comments about PocketWizard PC Female to Miniphone Adapter:
This adapter is necessary in order to get your Pocket Wizard's (I have the PLUS II transceivers) to work as receivers on AlienBees strobes. The connection goes: miniphone into back of strobe light-miniphone into port of Transceiver. Not sure about other strobes.
This should be an included accessory with the PW's but it's not.
There are other cable options im sure.

It does it's job, and does it well. Not the highest seeming build quality, but I have yet to have oone break or fail

As long as you have at least one of these little adapters in your bag, you will always be able to connect your PocketWizard to any flash, as long as that flash has a cable that will connect to a standard PC connection. Although the PC connector is not the best, sometimes it's the only choice you have!

I owned two of these and they both shorted out on me. I was connecting a Norman portable strobe and battery kit with a pocket wizard. After they stopped working you could look very closely and see some melted plastic. I talked to one photographer that used them flawlessly with his 400W alien bees. But why buy something that may or may not work with what you're using?

I use this as a backup to my normal hot shoe to mini connector because I already have many different PC connections. It makes life easier as it gives me 2 options to connect. Since PC is a terrible connection, this device makes life that much better.

I use this adapter on the end of a sync cord to connect one of my pocket wizard tt5's to my main monolight. Not much to say about it becuase it's a pretty simple device. It does the job it's supposed to do.

Comments about PocketWizard PC Female to Miniphone Adapter:
I've owned probably four of these now, and need to buy another. Why so many? Because a somewhat tight synch cord will pull the end right off.
I even put superglue on the last one in an attempt to somehow try and prevent it from being pulled off. No such luck.
The adaptor works, but for something that breaks _so_ often, the pricetag gets a little wearing.

When you use PocketWizard control TL
I enable the use of an electronic flash using in a studio now this in TT5. I do not think flash maker.
I make Lighting with the big electronic flash of the quantity and use speedlight equipped with E-TTL for an accent light in another TT5 and I am cordless and can easily get various light by controlling quantity from a camera.
