Comments about Gitzo G-1586 All Weather Tripod Shoes (Set of 3):
I bought these shoes for my Gitzo 1325 tripod and fluid head system. The shoes are effective when the tripod legs are set to the basic 24 degree angle, but if you want to get close to the ground and extend the legs to 80 degrees these shoes are worthless. They do not stay on the tripod and they are more trouble than they are worth.Poor design. I will keep them only because I maybe can find some utility somehow; not that big an investment. I find Gitzo products to be overpriced for what you get, I can get better value with other companies. I will keep my expensive legs and fluid head, but next time I will probably not buy from Gitzo

Comments about Gitzo G-1586 All Weather Tripod Shoes (Set of 3):
This product does not really live up to its expected benefits.
Instead of hard plastic, solid soft rubber would be much better.
In deep snow it sits higher than the photographer and slides endlessly, in mud it does not protect the tripod adequately.
Using it inside (not the intended purpose of course) is a complete disaster especially on hardwood floors, as these shoes slide in all directions.
In sum, the tripod's spikes or rubbers have to be used... and cleaned and these shoes put to rest in a drawer.

Comments about Gitzo G-1586 All Weather Tripod Shoes (Set of 3):
Used these on a recent photo shoot on the beach. The shoes are durable and attached snuggly to my tripod legs. You do need some sort of rubber foot on your tripod legs for the straps to wrap around (spikes on the tripod will not work with this). The shoes kept my tripod on top of the sand preventing sand from getting in the lower leg joints and providing a firm platform for the tripod from which to take photographs.
I was able to throw the tripod over my shoulder with shoes attached and move easily between destinations. Shoes clean up easily with a hose or in the sink. I was really glad I had these along at the beach and can't wait to try them in the snow this winter.
