This Ikelite Underwater Housing with Sigma DP1 Merrill Compact Digital Camera Kit from B&H Photo bundles Ikelite's #6101.02 Housing with the compatible Sigma DP1 Merrill digital point-and-shoot camera. Benefit from the ability to capture high-resolution still photos and 320 x 240 QVGA video at a maximum depth of 200'.
The housing's large, ergonomic mechanical controls enable access to all camera functions. Built for durability, the enclosure is designed, constructed, and tested in the USA. It's manufactured from acrylic and corrosion-resistant polycarbonate, which are both clear to allow you to monitor the o-ring seal and maintain a full view of the camera. The integrated flat glass lens port has a 3.9" diameter and accepts optional, external wide-angle and macro add-on lenses and color-correction filters. The housing features an electrical hot shoe and a waterproof Ikelite 5-pin bulkhead sync connector for direct attachment of optional, external Ikelite or non-Ikelite DS series strobes via sync cords, which are available separately. Manual exposure settings must be used because TTL flash exposure is not supported. Additionally, the housing includes a tray with a grip for improved handling and lighting arm attachment.
The Sigma DP1 Merrill Compact Digital Camera features a 46MP Foveon X3 Direct Image CMOS sensor and True II image processor for high-resolution JPEG, RAW and JPEG+RAW still photos and 320 x 240 QVGA video recording at 30 fps. It employs three layers of vertically stacked receptors to reproduce colors with striking accuracy and create images with notable sharpness. The wide-angle 28mm (35mm equivalent) FLD lens has a fairly fast f/2.8 aperture for effective low-light shooting and shallow depth of field, and a manual focus ring gives you a high degree of control over your compositions. The camera is also equipped with a 3.0", 920k-dot LCD monitor. The hot shoe gives you access to all types of accessories, including optional external flash units.
