The B&W 105mm Kaeseman Circular Polarizing Filter is constructed from select polarizer foils and especially prepared optical glass. Kaeseman ("encased") filters are completely edge-sealed for maximum durability under extreme climatic conditions.
Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and varied by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun.
The reputation of B+W's Schott glass is world renowned. The high production standards combined with a sturdy brass filter ring make B+W filters hard to beat. These filters have a "heft" to them that is impressive. They may feel heavier but the benefit is in the construction and results. Not only is the glass exceptional but so is the seal between the ring and glass. Schott Glass used in the manufacture of this filter is legendary and synonymous with the highest standards of filter production. It comes with a solid 10-year warranty.
Note! Circular polarizers are specifically designed for use with auto-focus SLR cameras (They will also work on manual systems without problems)

Comments about B+W 105mm Kaeseman Circular Polarizing Filter:
I use this CPL with my Lee Filters kit. While it is indeed quite large, it really is the only practical way to use both a CPL and GND filter together efficiently. The B+H quality is obvious and appreciated and I have no regrets. Price was reasonable too. I just need to get bigger pockets to carry all this stuff while shooting!

Comments about B+W 105mm Kaeseman Circular Polarizing Filter:
Works well without vingetting on the wide angle Lee filter holder (with two slots - at 3 slots you start to get vingetting) on my 24mm lens (on a 5DMK11).

Comments about B+W 105mm Kaeseman Circular Polarizing Filter:
Very Good Quality construction of Circular Polarizer. Ring turns easily in it's mount and attaches easily to 105mm threads (eg, Lee Adaptor). Recommended. Be aware that for very wide lenses this may vignette depending on what else you have in front of the lens.

Comments about B+W 105mm Kaeseman Circular Polarizing Filter:
[...]I suspect the lack of a multicoating might make it difficult to clean. It was extremely hard to turn, very heavy and very thick. All my circular filters are B+W, but this one went back and replaced it with the more expensive Heliopan multicoated slim. What a difference. I love the Heliopan. Turns easily, much slimmer, much lighter. Forget the B+H and spend the extra money to get something that works (like the Heliopan).

Comments about B+W 105mm Kaeseman Circular Polarizing Filter:
Excellent quality of construction, smooth rotating ring (although perhaps a little stiff to rotate, hopefully it will loosen up in time).
Image quality is second-to-none and puts my other so called high end polarisers to shame (Hoya HMC among others). Natural tones and colours, no annoying colour casts.
I use it with a Lee Filter kit and WA adapter which work well with it.
Would highly recommend.
