The B&W 82mm Kaeseman Circular Polarizing Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) Filter is constructed from select polarizer foils and especially prepared optical glass. Kaeseman ("encased") filters are completely edge-sealed for maximum durability under extreme climatic conditions.
Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and varied by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun.
The reputation of B+W's Schott glass is world renowned. The high production standards combined with a sturdy brass filter ring make B+W filters hard to beat. These filters have a "heft" to them that is impressive. They may feel heavier but the benefit is in the construction and results. Not only is the glass exceptional but so is the seal between the ring and glass. Schott Glass used in the manufacture of this filter is legendary and synonymous with the highest standards of filter production. It comes with a solid 10-year warranty.
Note! Circular polarizers are specifically designed for use with auto-focus SLR cameras (They will also work on manual systems without problems)

Comments about B+W 82mm Kaeseman Circular Polarizing Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) Filter:
I bought this specifically for a trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks this past week to use with Canon 16-35 zoom and 24 mm TSE lenses.
I was very pleased with the results. Neither lens showed vignetting, even with the 16-35 set at 16 mm at f2.8. There was atmospheric haze due to smoke from forest fires in the area, and every day I was in Grand Teton the sky was absolutely cloudless, making for very harsh lighting. This filter helped to cut some of the haze, and enriched the color of the mountains.
When shooting hot spring pools in Yellowstone, I was amazed at how well it cut the surface reflections. This let me bring out the nice colors of the mineral deposits under the water in the pools.
If you are using the same lenses as myself, there is no need to get the slim version, which is a plus, because you can use the standard Canon lens cap rather than the loose-fitting caps that come with the B+W slim filters.
As usual, like my other B+W filters, it is well made, and never gets stuck on the lens.
Cons: Not inexpensive. But one has to consider that it's a large diameter filter and is flawless in performance, hence the cost.
I did notice that it got a little harder to rotate in ambient temperatures lower than about 35 deg F.

Comments about B+W 82mm Kaeseman Circular Polarizing Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) Filter:
This is the first B+W filter I have purchased. Initial impressions are that it's a high quality piece of glass, well made and it certainly cuts the glare and deepens the blue skies as it should.
I would just mention that I avoided the "thin" model after reading reviews about how difficult it was to remove from the lens once it's on. The reviews of this filter seemed to indicate that there was no issue with vignetting on lenses as wide as 24mm. Well, on my Sigma 24-70 2.8, there is serious vignetting at the wide end, necessitating some heavy cropping in PS. Just so you know, if you plan to use it on this type of lens you're going to lose some width.
Otherwise, it's a great filter.

I use this filter on my 16-35 L lense for outdoor shots and it is awesome. Plus it is great to be able to still use the factory lense cap.

Works fine, my last Polarizer, from Hoya, came apart so went with the Kaeseman and it seems very nice so far. We'll see how the years treat it.

Comments about B+W 82mm Kaeseman Circular Polarizing Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) Filter:
I am a professional photographer and use ND and polarization filters all the time. Buying a cheap filter makes for cheap photos. Need good quality glass. This particular filter is not real expensive but of quality that does not have any distortion of image or color. I would recommend it to any one.

Hated to spend the $$ but my experience with B+W would not allow a substitute. On my Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM there is vignetting at 16mm if stacked on a UV filter, correctable in DPP.

Comments about B+W 82mm Kaeseman Circular Polarizing Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) Filter:
I got this CP to mount on the Sigma 24-70 HSM that I picked up for shooting landscapes exclusively. It doesn't have the silky smooth feel when making adjustments that my Heliopan and BW Slim mount CP's have, but I expect it will loosen up with use. It's better a little tight now than sloppy right out of the box. Also, it doesn't seem to remove as much glare as the other two when I need it to. It's constructed pretty well and I don't expect to have any build quality issues. The entire assembly is pretty thick so I wouldn't recommend this filter for a lens much wider than 24mm, some vignetting may occur.

High quality, well made polarizer.
I haven't directly compared this polarizer to others, but sure it is as good as the competition.

Comments about B+W 82mm Kaeseman Circular Polarizing Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) Filter:
I bought this polarizer to go on my Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II lens, and it works great. Rotating the front filter element allows me to choose just how much reflection I want off of the surface of a body of water. At the extreme, it can cut virtually all of the reflection, which makes a very visually puzzling image where the viewer can not determine which objects are above or below the surface of the water.
I was concerned that I might see some vignetting (darkening of the corners) of my photos when the lens was set to 16mm focal length, but I could not see any evidence of that occuring.

Comments about B+W 82mm Kaeseman Circular Polarizing Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) Filter:
I purchased this filter in addition to a B+W linear polarizer to create a variable ND filter for my 24mm lens (which is $200 cheaper than a Singh-Ray Variable ND). I haven't had much experience with it but it is well made like all B+W products, and it does exactly what I expected it to thus far. A point I'd like to make is that during a tragic accident when my mother was trying to move some of my gear around in her truck the lens (with both filters attached) fell out and struck a concrete driveway from a distance of about three and a half feet. It landed at an angle directly hitting the edge of the linear filter on the ground neither filter was cracked or broken, and the only damage sustained by the linear filter was a very small dent and some minor scratches. Long and short of it: well built, does what it should, protected my lens, and prevented a potential heart attack.

I only use a few filters, but I always use the best quality in order to get the best results. Kaeseman filters have never let me down. Their polarizing filter is the best in my opinion.

Comments about B+W 82mm Kaeseman Circular Polarizing Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) Filter:
I found this B&W Polarizer to be far above other circular polarizers I have owned and currently own in contrast and color enhacement quality. The clarity and brilliance of my photos has increased. The only negative issue I have with this filter is that it is difficult to remove from a step down ring for a smaller lens.
