The Photek Softlighter 60" Umbrella takes light from your strobe head or monolight, reflects it into its white panel and then softens it again with a diffuser on its way out.
Some older flash heads (Elinchrom, Profoto) have very narrow (7mm) umbrella receivers. This Softlighter model has a narrower-than-standard shaft to fit such a light.
This size is perfect for a 1-2 person full-length shot, or up to a 4x5' product setup.
Note: This size does not include the gold and silver discs.

Comments about Photek Softlighter II with 7mm Shaft - (60" / 1.5 m):
One of the nicest portrait soft lights I've ever shot with...
Because it's very fragile, should be assembled carefully, and avoided to be carried in outdoor photoshootings....

Comments about Photek Softlighter II with 7mm Shaft - (60" / 1.5 m):
I've been using an Elinchrom Octabank for a couple of years and decided to try the Softliter for location shoots. Turns out that the light quality is gorgeous.
Better yet, setting it up is extremely simple and quick. And the price is hard to beat so I bought 2 at a go.

Comments about Photek Softlighter II with 7mm Shaft - (60" / 1.5 m):
This is what they call Bang for the Buck!
A no brainer modifier, anybody can get great results with this one, easy to setup and very well made for its price.
The only complain i might have is that the shaft sticks out to long, this is only because i have to use the 7mm shaft on my Elinchroms.

Comments about Photek Softlighter II with 7mm Shaft - (60" / 1.5 m):
I needed something big for flattering light to take photos of people and I chose this. It pretty much works well.
You lose a bit of power with the reflection and diffusion so I wouldn't recommend using battery powered strobes with this. You wouldn't get away with low ISO. When you move it closer, it can sometimes get in the way also.

Comments about Photek Softlighter II with 7mm Shaft - (60" / 1.5 m):
I use it for my home based portrait business. I use it on my main light. It gives a nice soft wide area of light and beautiful catchlights. It folds up neatly if I want to take it anywhere. It's easy to set up and to use. It's reasonably priced. I don't know of anything bad about it! This is my second one and I love them!

This is a light weight easy to use Umbrella soft box at a great price. It works great with my Elinchrom heads and it perfect for portrait and wedding shoots. Great price point allowed for the purchase of several so I have multiple heads all with the same output.
