Kodak Professional Chemicals, Process E-6, provide consistent, high-quality results with a variety of processing methods and equipment.
The chemical reducing action of the Kodak E-6 First Developer Replenisher, converts exposed silver halide grains (the latent image) into metallic silver (the silver image).
This is a negative image. The first developer step is the most critical step of Process E-6. The amount of silver formed depends on developer activity.
Time, temperature, agitation, developer concentration, and utilization affect first-developer activity.
The dye forms only at the sites where the image was converted to metallic silver.
Kodak E-6 Professional chemicals are ideal for processing Kodak Ektachrome, Kodak Professional Ektachrome, and Kodak Elite Chrome Films, as well as other E-6 process films produced by other manufactures.
Process E-6 requires each of the following chemicals:
- first developer,
- reversal bath,
- color developer,
- pre-bleach,
- bleach,
- fixer, and
- final rinse
The chemicals are supplied as liquid concentrates for ease of handling and mixing. Kodak Professional Chemicals, Process E-6AR, are formulated for replenishment systems with in-line dilution.
The 10 liter size is appropriate for large sink lines or rotary tubes, minilabs, and low-volume automatic processors.
To prepare first developer, color developer, and bleach working solutions, add the appropriate starter according to the mixing instructions on the package.
